Project: Remove Trees
In short: DO NOT USE James Bunner/ Bunner Property Maintenance and Tree Service. I have never written a poor review but given my experience with James, feel compelled to share what I've gone through to prevent others from suffering the same fate. Here's what happened: The job was not completed. I had two pine trees removed for $2700. The trees were indeed taken down, but two huge piles of mulch, along with large stumps, and huge pieces of the former trees were left strewn across the lawn. When he provided the quote he had said, "I will leave your lawn exactly as I found it." This was simply not the case. When asked when this work would be complete, James told me he would come back the next day to remove the mulch, stumps, and tree parts. As a trusting person, I foolishly paid him the balance in full believing that he would be back the following day to complete the work. That's when things began to unravel. That evening I got a call from a cash advance company saying they needed to validate my identify to cash the check I had provided to James. I should have known at that point that I was dealing with someone not working "above board". However, in trying to be helpful, I answered the cash advance companies questions and James again confirmed he would be there the following day to complete the work. This never happened. He simply never showed up. As such, I continued to text James every day for a week. He told me each day that he would be here even in one text saying, "Rain or snow or shine I'll be there". This went on day after day (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) until finally I was fed up and called him saying his lack of professionalism was appalling and that he was quick to cash my check without having completed the work. He explained that he had several other jobs now and couldn’t push those back. In my mind, good business means finishing one job before moving on to another. He didn’t disagree saying finally that he was moving someone else to make time to complete my work that coming Saturday. Again, Saturday came and went and here I am on Sunday left with an unfinished job. No call, text, or anything to let me know that he hadn’t been able to come by and do the work. I have left him a message to call me back, but have yet to hear from him. I truly hope I can follow this post with a more positive update saying that he in fact did call me back and finally finished the job. Fingers crossed.
