Jim Peatman founded the Classic Handyman Company in 1996 in response to the increasing demand by homeowners for professionalism in the home repair and maintenance industry. By combining his engineering training and experience to develop a "system" that is more than the sum of the parts, Jim has assembled a team of caring and responsive professionals all oriented towards achieving the highest standards of excellence. If this sounds too good to be true, that's because this service industry has been a letdown for so long. Now a reproducible system, Jim is training others in the art (and science) of providing home repair services through franchising. Jim's system is based on delivering value by taking care of you, the customer, and the professional working for you. Unlike some other companies who maintain only minimal involvement with the customer after the technician is assigned, Classic Handyman management gives written estimates, does extensive follow-up, and provides a one-year labor warranty on most work. This gives the property owner the assurance that a given project is totally familiar to management as to the scope of the job, the cost, and the personnel involved. How our clients feel about the quality of our work is of utmost importance to us. Therefore, we solicit feedback from every customer, after every job. One way is our comment card, which accompanies each invoice. The other is by direct contact and discussion with our customer.
