A spot was left "un-cured" and sticky. In spite of numerous attempts to give Craig the opportunity to rectify the situation, we were disappointed that he never made good on the job.
Response by Craig's Custom Construction, Inc.: ( consumer name withheld per their request) originally contacted my company in the Fall of 2015 to look at their basement for epoxy coating. On the initial look they had an obvious and serious moisture issue in their basement (i.e., deteriorating concrete, spalding concrete, missing tiles and a white chalky film on top of the tiles indicating a sure sign of moisture vapor emissions). Our original proposal stated removing the basement tile, prepping the concrete surface, installing a moisture barrier coating (5yr mfg. warranty) & installing epoxy coating. contacted my company in the Summer of 2016 & decided to move forward but wanted to leave the basement tile down and opt out of the moisture barrier coating in an attempt to save money. They were informed numerous times that without doing the moisture barrier coating; my company could not guarantee the job. Mr. Krug responded he was fully aware that it would be a risk but wanted to spend the least amount of money because he was selling the house. ( consumer name withheld per their request) scheduled the job 1 week prior to listing their home with ( consumer name withheld per their request). Our company completed the job and a week later; ( consumer name withheld per their request) called us because he had an "un-cured" sticky spot. We scheduled a time to visit the home. The spot ( consumer name withheld per their request) was referring to was a direct result of moisture attacking the bond line. There were several areas where the finish coat should've been clear but was cloudy; again because the moisture was attacking the bond line. I again reiterated to ( consumer name withheld per their request) that there is no warranty against moisture because they opted out of it. I had them refer to their final invoice which states there is no warranty against moisture. A very irate ( consumer name withheld per their request) said to me so the only way to fix this issue is to demo the basement floor and put a moisture barrier coating down. I responded yes. In conclusion, when a contractor recommends something it isn't because we want extra money. It is because we want the job to be completed the proper way so the customer gets what they are paying for. Some contractors still have integrity....I wish more homeowners did. Our company will no longer be completing any jobs unless the customer goes with our full recommendations....lesson learned. In summary, ( consumer name withheld per their request) attempted to put a band aid on a bad basement and passed the buck off to the new homeowners but it backfired. This all could have been avoided had. ( consumer name withheld per their request) spent the additional $1500.00.

Floor looks much better. There are a few small sports that did not get completely covered.
