I hired Joe and company to reinforce and refinish large deck. I've made a decision solely based on the HomeAdvisor reviews. Price was fine. They started the job - replaced some boards, powerwashed and partially sanded - all with low standard and much less than needed. I didn't see that they cared about the quality job at all. When I texted Joe asking not to start staining until I confirm that prep work is done he replied that he knows when it's done, he doesn't fill like finishing the project and demanded that I pay him for the work he did. I paid what he asked. I ended up with unfinished project. Still had to reinforce the deck, replace more boards, finish prep work and stain. In the and, I paid much more than if I hired a large professional company. ***What's his real reason for stopping the job I can only guess. We didn't argue. Underestimated the project? Had better things to do? Maybe he is to young to handle good size projects.
