Hired for patio enclosure so deck experience may be different. They made some basic construction mistakes that I had to point out. For example no gasket between frame and bluestone base, no water proofing of window sills, left upper edge of windows unsecured to frame, etc. They did address all of the issues when it was pointed out to them but unless you are knowledgeable and vigilant these minor mistakes could result in very costly repairs down the road. The work took 3 months with a lot of unnecessary delays. For example windows and door left sitting on my patio for a week before installing it. Then they came for half a day and left the door another week. Knowing they were a small business I paid for the windows/door and material upfront, about 50%, which was probably a mistake on my part. In the end the enclosure did end up being very well done and after a few months there have been no issues. I would not recommend Murray unless you are willing to micromanage your project.

In addition, while working on the project, we were aware of the necessary tasks that were open and needed to be completed but they had to be sequenced in a way to have a proper outcome. Needed a new deck installed quickly before putting house on the market. Obtained several quotes to build a 10 x 16 ft deck and Ralph's company was the only one who gave a written quote for the work. No questionable verbals. His quote also was very reasonable. Ralph's team started the work quickly and handled all the permit paperwork. His team finished the job in about 3 days. Very satisfied with how the deck turned out. Would use his team again.

Every aspect of my deck replacement project from initial estimates, drawings, demolition of part of the old deck, actual reconstruction and final completion of the project was executed with precision with total focus on customer satisfaction. Ralph abided by his detailed contract and always advised if additional services/costs were necessary before taking any action. His crew is exemplary; very skilled, professional, congenial (answered queries from residents), and responsible. They know decks and they are trouble shooters as they rectified multiple problems that other contractors had missed. Decks are their specialty for sure!

He does not respond in a timely manner to my communications, emails or phone messages. He has failed multiple inspections, he has requested more money for changes without completing the initial work that I paid him for. He started this job around July 8th 2021 and he never provided a date for an expected completion, I would like to know when my project will be completed.

Communication is poor and he took a deposit without a written contract and has delayed start date multiple times.

We are sorry you feel this way. Decks by Murray does not accept any payments without a signed contract first as was the case with your contract and deposit. Unfortunately, the delay was mostly due to waiting for the demolition company you hired to knock down your garage before we can replace it with the shed. All the work in the contract was completed and approved by you. We hope you would reconsider your rating and review. Some of these comments are untrue and can damage the reputation of our company. We appreciate your business nonetheless...
