Reviews
Write a ReviewThe drains were backing up in my entire house, so I called Gwinnett County, who checked the sewer line under the front yard with a camera, and they found blockage under the maple tree between the clean-out pipe and manhole in the street. I posted a search on Angi and found Zoom Drain with good reviews, so I reached out for an estimate. After I gave approval, Zoom Drain dispatched Chaz Latson and Sharde Johnson from their Sandy Springs, Georgia location. They arrived at my home in Sugar Hill within one hour at 11:00am. I fully explained the Gwinnett County test results, standing over the spot where they hit the blockage, and they provided a reasonable estimate: $475 to snake the line with a cable auger, but if they hit tree roots, they would need to hydrojet the line for $691, and they would not charge me for snaking the line. I accepted, and that's exactly what happened: Chaz ran the cable auger, until it snagged in the line under the tree, and he pulled out some tree roots and showed them to me. I approved going with the hydrojet. After working for 1 hour until noon, he cleared the line and successfully washed it out completely. Next, he ran a camera down the line for 83 feet to the manhole and saved a MOV video clip to email me. I watched the video, which shows distance in the corner, and I saw where the tree roots have grown into the line in a 6-foot section at the point from 27 feet to 33 feet. Like a clogged artery, the tree roots take up about 33% of the left side of the sewer line. Sharde immediately convinced me to buy a 1-lb box of ROOT-X from them for $60 to kill the roots. She poured half the box of crystals down the clean-out pipe. She said it foams up on contact with water to fill the entire pipe. She told me to flush the toilets several times and run the shower and the tub for a while to get a good flow of water in the line. Wait 2 months, then do this again with the rest of the box. They cleaned up everything and were on their way, total time = less than 90 minutes! My problem has been totally solved, and all the drains and toilets are working perfectly again!! I am very happy with the fast work they performed, and the results they achieved, all for a reasonable price!! I also found a Root-X equivalent foaming brand on Amazon with great reviews for $15 to use twice a year to control the roots in the line. Hallelujah!! Problem solved by Zoom Drain!! Bravo to Chaz and Sharde!!
We were told (by another service) that in order fix the blockage, they would have to file a claim with our homeowners insurance. They said that it woyld require them to dig up our floor (we are on a slab foundation. We tgen contacted Zoom and tgey came out, provided us with an estimate and in about a half hours time, the problem was fixed!
Thank you Zoom !
My technician, Ibn, was very experienced, knowledgeable and efficient, He did a thorough job at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Zoom Drain and I would hire them again.
They showed early, did the jobs, cleaned up and left. Polite, competent, thorough.
