We got off to a very rocky start and I should have canceled right then. I gave them detailed design drawing that we had done by a Newport design firm of exactly what I wanted in a kitchen. The young man was saying all the right things; yes we can do this; anything you want; we do custom blabla! We signed a contract on the 9/13/17. Because they kept trying to get me to agree on their design! It was basically the same kitchen that I already had! This took almost 3 weeks to convince them that we did NOT want pre-fab cabinets and that I DID want exactly what I gave them the first time! When they finally got started even the demo was only half done so, that as they moved forward, problems started to add up. Why did I continue? I don't know. NOT one time was there a worker on the site with a drawing. They installed the beautiful flooring I bought for the kitchen before they had demo'd the pony wall and moved it. The floor was great before, then they moved the pony wall and the repairs look like the flooring as repaired. The grout wasn't redone properly. They didn't do the electrical correctly. They didn't put the drain line in for the dishwasher before they began to put the cabinets in. That had to be done twice. When the amazingly beautiful quartzite counter-top came in it was cut wrong and one piece was installed with the veins going the wrong way. It was redone but not perfect. Back splash had to be be done twice. The first time was horrible. The crown molding was ridiculous! first time horrible. 2nd time better but still gaps in the pieces of wood. 3rd time...only one spot is now visible. The cabinets had gaps that need repair. When they put the stove in and the refrigerator they didn't level the fridge (wobbles) and broke the leg off the oven. It has visible pieces of plywood under one corner. We had the plumbing under the sink redone because they didn't install any type of air-gap. After repeated promises for fixing things we finally agreed on a finish date and that was not met. That is when we asked them to leave. Which was December 15th. We hired a great plumber to make those repairs and a local electrician who fixed everything a few hours. We're still looking for a leg for the oven. And we need shelves that they forgot to order. And after they had gone I realized that one bank of lower cabinets were supposed to be drawers. The regular shelves don't really work in that spot. But at this point...we will manage. We have 3 lower cabinet doors that now do not close properly and we will be have a local guy come in and make those adjustments. They did agree to come back and pick up all the junk left on our deck but they didn't clean up anything! So we hired cleaning people to come in and clean the deck, try to get the marks left on our floors. They may do good work closer to their home base, but for us, there was no oversite of the workers, no one could get here before noon everyday that they worked and we are in a condo so they had to leave at 5pm. Not good! Going forward we will only use local trades people! We paid too much for all this grief! I don't think you have vetted your contractors that well.

I contacted this company because of the reviews. I need to build a patio cover that requires County approval. October 17, 2017 – First Meeting with Sharon and Rose. Meeting seemed to go well. October 23rd, 2017 – Rose followed up with me; I stated my concerns about the project. Which where time frame and what the overall project was. Rose seemed to get it, so I set up second interview. October 25th – 2nd meeting. I should have gone with my gut feeling and never used them. Sharon told me that he had already spoken to the architect and engineer and we would be ready to build by Thanksgiving…….RED FLAG!!! October 27th – received e-mail/text from Rose that architect doesn’t need to come over to do measures. They are using Google Earth and the City….. SECOND RED FLAD. I actually thought this was the new way of doing stuff. October 31, 2017 – received text/email from Rose. Need $2500.00 check. They are ready to give me options on the designs next week. Sounds pretty amazing!! November 3, 2017 – Received text/email from rose. Architect will have designs next week. November 9th, 2017 – Received text/email from Rose. They have designs ready – Sounds amazing!! November 12, 2017 – Sharon shows up with these pieces of sub-par designs. No measurement, no floor plan specification. My 6 year old niece could have done a better job. He gave me the lame excuse that there were changes and they now they need to tear up my wall November 28th, 2017 – I need to sign some paper. I never signed any paper work. December 6th, 2017 – THEY NEED ME TO TELL THEM WHAT KIND OF TILE I HAVE. THIS IS THEIR JOB. By the way, shouldn’t this have been done in October? December 19th, 2017 – I am now pushing Sharon from results. His text stated that, “you have to understand…….. It is not their fault” ------ no I don’t. You broke all your promises. It is their fault, unable to get a simple patio cover December 27th, 2017 – Sharon texted me, “Great new city passed 1st step. Then I asked what the 1st step was. Sharon texted back and said “The first step is design approval and engineering” January 8th, 2017 – I went to County Office to check on my last steps for the pool I am having built. Since, I was there I asked about the patio cover. The COUNTY DOES NOT SHOW ANY RECORDS OF THE 1ST STEP BIENG APPROVED. I texted Sharon immediately. Sharon said, “He has it on it…..” I have not heard from him since.

I used EZ Builders to remodel my kitchen. They were pretty easy to deal with and gave me a decent price for the job (not the lowest). I am generally satisfied with their work with a couple exceptions. First the good, The kitchen looks great when finished, I am very happy with it. Everything works as it should and craftsmanship is very good. They were clean and kept dust to a minimum. Not so good: They could have scheduled the work more efficiently. Being without a kitchen is a real hassle and a lot of days were wasted with no work scheduled. They offered good financing but screwed up the way it was implemented. I never received the written warranty I was promised. A minor repair was left undone even after I reminded them twice (did it myself). It seemed to me like after they received their money they stopped paying attention to me. I'm overall happy with the job with some irritating leftovers.

These guys did a great job on my kitchen renovation! I've heard horror stories of other people not notifying you on when they are starting or leaving things undone, but they were very nice and timely!
