This nightmare started at 3:30 AM on 8/3/17. I woke up to a dripping sound in our middle bedroom. When I turned on the light I saw water dripping from the ceiling onto our couch. The walls were saturated and the ceiling was sagging. My wife and I moved everything away from the dripping and got towels and buckets so we could catch as much of the water as we could. I went into the attic and saw that the heating and air conditioning unit in the attic was leaking from the bottom. I called the 24 hour emergency service number for ELITE about 4 AM. No one answered and I left a message. No one returned my call. I called at 5 AM - no answer. I called at 6 AM - no answer. I also started an online conversation on the ELITE website that was never responded to. Called at 7 AM and finally got an answer. I explained the situation and an appointment was set up for between 8 and 10. The technician arrived on time and diagnosed the problem. The coil in the inside unit had rusted and ruptured and that is what was leaking. I had my paperwork available for all the services that ELITE has completed. In August of 2011 ELITE recommended that our 5 year old heating and air conditioning system be replaced since some of the components were starting to fail. We went over the cost and the technician (Jesse) even drew a picture to show what the new system looked like and how it worked. I happily agreed to purchase the new equipment and it was installed the next day (8/3/2011). The technician looked at my paperwork and said that the coil in the inside unit was not replaced when the new system was installed so there is no warranty for the coil failing. You can't imagine how shocked and surprised I was to hear this. ELITE told me they were replacing the inside and outside unit in 2011 but unilaterally decided to use the existing 5 year old coil in the inside unit. This was never discussed or disclosed to me because if it would have been discussed I would have opted for a new coil. When I was told that the inside and outside units were being replaced I thought, like I believe any other homeowner would think, that everything in the inside and outside units would be replaced. If not, that fact should have been disclosed to me. In addition, in reviewing my paperwork for all the service calls since the "new" system was installed, there is no mention of anyone ever looking at the coil in the inside unit. From the pictures that the technician showed me, the coil was completely rusted. No way had that rust just occurred. No question that ELITE is responsible for the damage to my home but takes no responsibility for any of it. Now, I'm stuck with $3500 worth of repairs that may have been prevented if ELITE would have been up front with me when they installed what they called a new inside and outside unit. Therefore, I can no longer trust ELITE with my air conditioning, heating, and plumbing maintenance and service. I have several neighbors that have used ELITE in the past and I will let them know of my experience.

They started at 0830 and were done completely by 1200 hours. They were on time, on budget and worked very professionally. I had them remove and replace the existing HVAC, furnace, air handler and coils which had been in th attic for 27 years. The outside A/C was replaced with a much quieter and energy efficeint model. I am still amazed on how quiet the whole system is.
