Although the job was done mostly correct it took forever to complete. It started on 6/29, text message estimate on 8/8, 8/11 said we'd like to have paperwork, got paperwork 8/18 and was completed 9/19. He promised dates that he knew he couldn't commit to but didn't tell us until close to the end that the permit wasn't approved till 9/1. That info would have helped a lot in Aug when he was giving us dates that couldn't be fulfilled. It was very inconvenient, as if my time was not important. Not professional but the work got done.

Very unprofessional (frequently showed up in flip-flops). Poured concrete with insufficient color and then waited more than a month before sealing. Lack of sealing led to damage to the concrete. He would schedule a time to seal and then not show up without informing us, we would have to contact him.

John was the gentleman who did the work on my driveway and walkway. The problems encountered were: Cement Work: The walkway is not level The entire cement project (driveway and walkway) is not smooth, it cannot be walked on barefooted - very rough and hurts to walk on it. The area that is suppose to be my back porch slumps in the middle.. Backhoe work: Left two huge areas of ruts in back yard only one has been semi-leveled by two men with shovels. Ran over and broke existing cement area that was used as my back porch. Dug up termite baits - dug up 3, broke 2 of them John: Doesn't respect women - (In my opinion) Has the attitude of "I'm the professional so you need to trust me and not question what I do" Argues over prediscussed design and tell client that they never said they wanted an area to be finished off a certain way. Talks over the client - it is more important for him to say what he wants to say rather than listen to client. Will not address problems that come up himself - had to find out about the ruts in backyard, broken porch step, and termite baits myself through my own observance or those of my daughters who call "mom look at this!!" never said sorry - just an "oh well" attitude Readjusts plans according to how he thinks it would look better without discussing the change with client. I still don't have two parts of my project the way I wanted it because he didn't think it would look nice or he argued with me saying that I never told him what I wanted when I know I did from the beginning. Construction site: Left trash around not only on my property but on neighbors Did not completely clean up work-site after job was completed. Still found parts of forms that were not removed. Had to call him back to clean off cement from house and fence - his reply was "I can't see that well" Results : Rough cement work - I will have to hire someone else to come over and smooth out his work costing me extra money. Damaged back yard - I will have to hire someone else to come out and level back yard costing me extra money, on top of that making walking into back yard off the porch a hazard for me and everyone else. Recommendation DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY !!

TOOK MY $400 DEPOSIT AND DID NOT COMPLETE ANY WORK! STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN MY MONEY BACK.. BEWARE. I hired John Manisela / Friends Forever Landscaping on Aug 25. I gave him a $400 deposit check for the job which would total $2000. We scheduled a concrete patio job on Sept 11 in the morning. He ended having to cancel that appointment because he said rain delays caused him to behind on other projects and pushed mine back 1 week to Sept 18th. He came by Friday, Sept 15th in the late afternoon to drop off some pieces of wood for the job on Monday. We talked about his plan for the concrete patio he would be pouring for me. He told me that they planned to pour the concrete on top of the grass in my back yard without excavating (digging out) the grass first. He said they always just pour on top of the grass and it's perfectly fine to do this. I told him I felt that didn't sound right and that I felt they should first remove the grass and pour a base. He insisted it would be fine to do it this way and we agreed to disagree. Over the weekend I asked a few people I knew in the industry about this since I wasn't comfortable with John's plans to pour concrete over grass on Monday (including the builder of my house). They all said that you should typically excavate the grass first and then pour a base and then pour the concrete. I contacted John to explain my concerns again and he still insisted that's how they will do it despite my objections. Monday morning came and I decided to stay home from work to wait for John and his crew to come to ensure they did the job right. I texted John around 8am to see what was their ETA and he said they were waiting on confirmation of their concrete for the job. Told me first they'd be at my place by 9:30am. At 9:46am he texted me saying ETA is 10:30am. At 9:59am he texted me telling me that he has to cancel again due to a flat tire and sent a picture of a wheel with a flat tire. I then went to work since they were not going to show. After this I emailed him about an hour later to let him know I would not be using their services due to disagreement on him just pouring concrete on the grass. I explained that if I was going to pay $2000 for a concrete job, that it should be done the correct way which would be to first excavate the grass, pour a base and then pour the concrete. John said that he's keeping the $400 for his work so far (which he had done nothing towards actually completing the patio, except for dropping off some pieces of wood in my yard the Friday before). I asked him for my money back and said it's not right to keep someone's money when you haven't earned it. He said that he did earn it and that I'm not getting it back. After several attempts to get John to give me my money back, I contacted Home advisor to intermediate. It's now Oct 15th and I'm still waiting on resolution from Home advisor to get my funds back. I'm not sure what they will do to get it back, but everything I've written here c

John was very friendly and professional, provided a comprehensive written quote (with better pricing than 3 other companies), completed the job as agreed and was very conscientious about his crew's work. He continually followed up with us making sure we were happy with his work. John has two companies that we utilized: 1- large tree removal and 2- tear-out and re-pour of a section of our driveway.

Friends Forever Landscape trimmed two of my trees. They came over the day they said they would and did a great job! Juan, the own came by that evening to collect payment, and made a point to meet me to make sure I was satisfied with the job. He was very polite and professional. John and his team did a great job at a fair price. This could have been a 5 Star review if John would have a little more attention to the details. Cons: John mis-estimated the size of the job and had to ask if I could help make up the difference which I did. I had confirmed the price several times with him then it changed. Took 3 requests for him to come back and remove the wood forms and pick wheel barrow full of water that he left behind. Also left concrete "slag" where the forms were removed.

The contractor allowed the concrete truck to back onto my driveway and the driveway was cracked. I told him about it and he said he would come by and look at it. I have not talked to him since.

I enjoyed working with John. He did exactly what he said. Showed up on time and performed clean work. I hired him to fix the work of a non Home Advisor contractor that I needed to terminated in the middle of the job. I will use these guys again.
