The initial contact and appointment set up was great! I was so excited for the tub to be resurfaced! It was going to be white instead of blue. The appointment itself was great too...although there were two runs in the new surfaced when I inspected it closer later on. It was still much better looking than the baby blue that it had been. The next week I had cleaners that decided to use the tub to clean somethings and they scratched it in several places. Numerous attempts to contact hb builder to have them touch up the tub went unanswered. They basically disappeared after I paid the bill. A month plus later and I have yet to hear from them. After trying to find another company to touch up the tub I learned there are much better ways to resurface a tub compared to what hb did...that will last much longer AND the companies will stand behind their work. I hate writing bad reviews but I rely so heavily on others reviews I thought I should warn others if possible...hopefully you wont make the same mistake I did selecting this contractor.

I. am. livid. Similar situation as the 2 recent poor reviews. Hired these guys because past reviews were good. They came and did the job and said it was not up to par and came out the next day to finish, which I appreciated. However, the 30 minutes turned into hours and I had a guest from out of town and plans ruined. I told them not to reinstall the door because I had to go. Inspected when finished, it was not dry so like the other person it was an inspection but could not tell 100%, gave them a giant tip and called it a day. The next day I noticed many scratches and bumps along with the white material on my vanity and faucet in addition to my entire bathroom being covered in dust. I procrastinated contacting them for a month or so but when I got a response 5/20 they said they would be out soon. I asked for a 30 minutes heads up because I work from home and needed to make sure I was not on the phone. They showed up with no notice, needless to say I could not answer. Ever since then I have been trying to get this fixed. It is almost a month and a half later!!!! I was told there was a sick grandmother and yes, I am sorry about that and had a TON of patience due to the situation, but I am sorry enough is ENOUGH! My husband died of cancer and was sick for 10 months prior, so I know what being a caregiver is like and I NEVER treated ANYONE like this when I was in the middle of all of it! It is NOT an excuse! I gave AMPLE time due to the situation, and I was taken advantage of. So, thank you HB Builders for taking complete advantage of a young widow who scrounged to get the money to do this in the first place!!! Fast forward, just tried putting the shower doors on again (I have been without my upstairs shower for months now) and scratched the stupid surface because they grouted too high and it is actually IMPOSSIBLE to install the doors!!!! I am just so upset. HB- since neither of your phones seem to be in service I hope you read this and please contact me to fix this situation and I will take this review down. I messaged you both and emailed you, VM was not working on one phone and the other phone was cancelled. I will wait until the end of the week to call the BBB and a lawyer. To the previous reviewer, if you are still considering taking them to small claims court I am happy to contact a lawyer together. I just want enough money back to have a reputable company fix the damage. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!

Initially the communication was consistent. Was able to schedule a tub resurfacing. I had to call to check in on day of appointment as Mike was running late. Mike did a thorough job of covering the bathroom and spraying the new surface. David showed up with a child to check in and stayed for about 30 minutes. Child sat in the hallway while David and Mike worked. This was the most professional. Mike finished within the time frame estimated. He explained that if any dust was found, he would return to polish the surface. David provided an electronic invoice shortly after. I did an initial inspection of the job, but did not want to disturb the drying process. I paid the bill immediately in full. Later that afternoon, I noticed a blemish on the side of the tub. I immediately called David and he stated it could be addressed the following week. I then had to continue following up to even get an appointment made. Day of the appointment, no one showed up. And David told me to contact Mike as he preferred to make his own schedule. Again, very unprofessional. Mike apologized and stated there was a miscommunication on their side. After telling me he was stuck in traffic and he probably would not make it, all communication ceased from either of them. I have left multiple voicemails and text messages to no success. It is a shame that the job will be left incomplete as I now have a beautiful tub with a noticeable blemish.

HB Builders vendor does not call back in a timely manner, does not always respond, does poor work, and actually ruined not only my tub (which only needed a color change), but got epoxy paint on the floor, and epoxy on the faucet handle. Removing the paint on the two latter items will ruin them. Now my tub really needs refinishing! His worker walked off the job, and the owner has not called me back. Absolutely would not recommend.

Overall the work was very well done, it just took several trips from the workers to complete.

I spoke to David on 04/02/19 about resurfacing a bath tub and set up the appointment for 05/03/19. Instead of David showing up, his brother Mike came (over an hour late) and did the job. The next day I noticed uneven coating, missed spots, tape that is wedged in the tub area where the grout is, and rough bumpy spots as well as areas that look like dried paint running down from the top, and an area looks like someone took a paint brush and just smeared white paint over it. I truly wish I could attach pictures to this for you to see, but it does not provide that. I will include them on my Yelp review if possible though. I called, emailed, and text David about this problem and he did not return any of them. I called him again on 05/06/19 and he said he was busy because they had over booked jobs. I reached out to him again the next day to see when he could fit me in, but he did not answer his phone. He finally called me 05/09/19 and said he would come out on 05/12/19 @ 9:00 AM (yes, MOTHERS DAY!) and look at it. This time he said there was illness in the family and a lot going on. At 9:30 on Mothers day he was not there, so I text him to see what was up. He called and said his car was stolen and he was sending Mike out, and he would be there by 11:30. Guess who was NOT there at 11:30. I sent a text telling him to forget about it, and he said Mike would be there in 45 minutes. I told him no, because I am just done with him and his company. I usually do not do bad reviews, but this one was definitely earned. They totally ripped me off, and if this is the way you treat a grandmother, you deserve it. If you are a gambler, by all means hire them, but if you do not have a lot of money, like myself, save yourself the stress and aggravation. I used the little bit of money I had in my savings account to do this, and now I have to hire someone else to come and fix it. I thought about taking him to small claims court to recoup my money, but in doing further research I found he would filed for bankruptcy, so I would just be spending more money, and probably never see a dime reimbursed. So, beware! Do your research BEFORE hiring people. Unfortunately, I did not do mine until afterward.
Response by HB Builders: We received information about Arrnetta having warranty issue, we tried to get her in on our earliest opening, yes we work Mother s day, we work our birthdays, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, I told her we would be late, my car was stolen and I needed Mike to take me to get a rental car, at 11:30. Mike was pulling into her parking lot and she cancelled, we can only work and help people if they let us, I do not spray these jobs, I am an amputee and it is hard for me to stand steady so my brother a share holder in the company does. We are still willing to fix the problem, me having an illness in the family a terminal ill, grandma is.

They were able to fit me in the same day. They said to give them a call if I had any issues as the bathroom is about to be remodeled. Very polite.
