We started the process of getting quotes for a patio about 2 months ago. With the construction market booming in Nashville, Hunter proved to be world class in all facets. His price was fair and work was exemplary. We are absolutely thrilled with our new patio! Highly recommend!

Great experience working with them from start to finish. Easy to communicate and express what I wanted and they delivered. I needed a retaining wall installed. Hunter worked with me and provided several options based on my budget. After he completed the wall we were so happy that we had him build an outdoor kitchen as well. Excellent workmanship and quality. Would definitely be willing to hire them again.

In September, 2016, we agreed to have Hunter Atagi create a 475-525 square foot stamped concrete patio and a retaining wall which would drain the water away from the house. I thought his bid was too high and showed Mr. Atagi the other bids that I had received which included the patio with a french drain and/or a sump pump at a lower price. Seeing that information, he reduced the price for the patio. We agreed to a payment schedule Mr. Atagi began with the preparation of the subsurface of the patio. Brick trim was being used on the house. Because the brick looked nice on the house, we decided to use brick on wing wall and told Mr. Atagi he did not need to build the stone wall extension the wing wall. In the agreement, he was to extend the wing wall with stone. Instead, he built a cement block wall which meant the labor to create a 3 inch deep foundation for a cement block wall consisting of 30 cement blocks. A considerable savings for him. Mr. Atagi was to complete about six feet of sidewalk and three steps down to the patio. We asked Mr. Atagi to widen the sidewalk six inches he was creating so it would provide a landing spot for stairs. He did so. The finish on the concrete sidewalk and steps were so poorly finished and did not match the existing sidewalk that we are trying to find a way to fix them. Mr. Atagi ended up with a extra large pile of dirt so I suggested to that he could save having to remove the dirt when he was finished and put some of it into a small pond on our property. There were a few rocks remaining around the pond the his workman did have to remove. The subsurface material and rebar were added to the patio area in preparation for the concrete. At this point, Mr. Atagi had completed the cement wall, the partial sidewalk, the steps, and the patio was prepared for the cement. This had taken several weeks as Mr. Atagi had another job he was finishing and some weather interfered. He started in September and our last communication with him at that time was in November and the patio was still not finished.. We had to keep asking when he was coming back. However, we made the mistake of our payments in accordance with the agreed upon schedule. We now had paid Mr. Atagi $8210 for a twelve foot, two foot high cement block wall, for a poorly finished sidewalk, two cement steps, and a 375 sq ft area prepared for a patio. Because the little pond was filled in, it was noticeable that the patio was quite small. When I measured the patio, I found it to only be 375 Sq ft area, instead of the 475-525 in the agreement. When I pointed that our to Mr. Atagi, he felt the prepping the patio area, removal of the few rocks from the pond area, pushing dirt into the pond, and widening the sidewalk area for the deck area justified the amount of money we had already paid him and equaled the square footage in the patio being smaller than in the agreement. Response by Hunter's Hardscapes, LLC: I refuse to make negative remarks about a customer. All I can say is that this is the first job that I have ever walked away from in 10 years. I refuse to say why but was warned by the deck contractor when I started the job. I learned a valuable lesson on how to manage a customer that wants something for nothing, or wants to change everything that was agreed upon. I'm content with my skills and honesty and disregard this negative review. I have to many return customers and work that I haven't worried about my reviews. That will change as of now!
