The first point is that the company did not live up to the contract we signed, which states that work will be completed 3-4 weeks from start date. Our job took 11 weeks, and it was a constant struggle to even get it done by then. However, when we hesitated on making our last payment PRIOR to completion of the work, due to concerns about actually getting anything done if we didn't owe anything, the owner threatened us with a lien on our home. Please note that we had already paid about $15,000 months prior to this. Customer service and communication was atrocious. We never knew when a worker would be coming until the night before, and then only because we contacted the owner to find out. The remodel was inefficient. For example, our floor was torn out weeks before the new one was installed. The countertop template was not created until we were well into the job, leaving over a week in which absolutely no work was done. We were told by the franchise owner that he just had so many jobs going that it was impossible to complete them on time. We believe that should not be the customer's problem. A good business will not take on more work than it is capable of completing in the time contractually agreed to and will hire enough qualified people prior to taking on new jobs. The quality of work was mediocre, particularly when it came to the backsplash, which is still not cleaned of grout residue to our satisfaction. The installer was new and was clearly not properly trained. He never even covered our brand new countertop when he was cutting tile and using grout, nor did he use plastic to maintain the dust and dirt, as the other installers had done. The whole process was not a positive experience at all, and that's too bad. We are loyal customers when a business treats us right. We are planning to have both our bathrooms remodeled in the near future, and it will definitely not be with this business. Edit after pro's reply: His dates are not at all accurate in his response. Here is what I would have responded if I had the ability: Please allow me to correct a couple of misstatements. Our contract, which I have in front of me, was signed on Aug. 14, 2017, at which time we paid 50%. Start of construction began when our original flooring was ripped out, on Sept. 28, 2017, 6-1/2 weeks after that date. The contract states that completion of construction will occur "within 3-4 weeks of start date." The last check was dated Dec. 1, 2017, more than 10 weeks from the the start date and 16-1/2 weeks from the date the contract was signed. The doors that were damaged by the installer were not replaced until Dec. 14, a total of 12 weeks from the start of construction, 18-1/2 weeks from the contract date. Additionally, the backsplash was never completely restored to what it should have looked like, probably due to the way the grout was laid on it. In response to that, we were told, "Every installer has a first time." Finally, the scratches in the polish of the floor wer
Response by Kitchen Solvers of North Dallas: We appreciate your business and feedback, but with all due respect the contract specifically states on page 1 that the Start is 4 - 6 weeks AFTER ordering materials. I don't think you read that part carefully enough and/or didn't fully grasp what it was saying even though it is spelled out quite clearly. Completion is stated as 3 - 4 weeks after the start date, which is additive to the 4 - 6 weeks of ordering the materials, so the total span specified on the contract is 10 weeks and it went 1 week longer overall before subtracting any days in between that we couldn't work (which is quite reasonable). Special flooring underlayment with very high STC and ICC sound proofing spec requirements also had to be procured, which was very difficult to find one thin enough in with this high of a rating, but we did with much due time needed to do so. The contract and I stated up front (very clearly) what the payment term requirements were also, which was agreed upon with signing. 50% deposit up front, 40% 2nd installment upon delivery of materials and final 10% due upon substantial completion (substantial being 10% or less of the project total value). The contract also clearly states that a lien could be imposed for non-payment per the payment terms. These terms are in place to protect not only our needed cash flow, and our working capital as well for continuing to successfully operate our business without interruption to other jobs in the schedule. With thousands of $ already paid out for materials on multiple jobs and still waiting for thousands $ in Receivables due for other jobs, control of our payments terms is very critical and important and cannot be altered off the cuff after customer signing is already complete. It doesn't matter how much was paid up front already because it was all agreed to with the customer's knowledge per the customer signed contract. I was just reminding Lori that the contract stipulates a potential lien for non-payment, so it is not a threat, it's a mutually agreed upon term of the contract. We were at the complex almost every day, so we could easily work on the remodel whenever convenient with key access or without. The floor underlayment material that was usually in stock with the only local stocking distributor was out of stock and had to be replenished that took 2 weeks. Much prep work was also required in order to lay large porcelain tiles with the utmost flatness for a great looking floor which was provided. Countertop templating did not slow the job down at all, but it did have to be scheduled around a loaded schedule of other templating jobs but it didn't interfere. The quality of work provided was far more than a mediocre look as well and photos can be seen on line in our Gallery as a testament to some very fine quality. The backsplash was also cleaned twice after grouting and looks very good. As much as we try to stay on schedule when we can, we still do not like to compromise quality for speed. In

Unfinished project and horrendous customer service. The measurements for vanity refacing were done in April, and then again at least 4 more times between then and November, and the project is still not finished. It was supposed to be done in May. Eric does not return phone calls. He does not call when he says he will. He claims to be swamped with work but doesn't finish the jobs he already has in progress, to judge from mine. The work itself is just average; on one vanity they did the measurement wrong and there's a raw side edge exposed where the front facing should have covered it. They constantly cite 'factory error' for screw-ups like not putting the hinges in the right place, and generally make excuses. Lame excuses. If you hire them you will be sorry, and I have no idea why Home Advisors continues to associate itself with them. I have never seen such a slip-shod, indifferent operator in my life.
Response by Kitchen Solvers of North Dallas: One of our former Sales people left the job in the midst of Carole?s sale, which may have caused some miscommunication. The signed contract stipulated the exact dimensions of the upper cabinet, which Carole signed and agreed to but we later determined that she didn?t like the height of the upper cabinet. We then agreed to modify it for her at our own expense, even though we were not obligated to per the contract. New doors at no charge also had to be ordered for the modified cabinet and this takes at least 3 weeks. All has been installed and reconciled to her satisfaction at this point and no refund was necessary. We greatly appreciate the opportunity and we?re glad we could work with Carole to complete this nice master bath remodel. Thanks again Carole
