Lakeforest Siding

Failed to provide proof of license, workers comp or insurance.. Abandoned project after two thirds of work completed. Left a huge mess on job site.

I was very happy with the finished project until the siding started to change color. Mike and Amy have jerked me around for over 6 months and I believe they are now out of business. So much for the lifetime warranty. I will have to figure out how to replace the failed siding on my own. So ANGRY!

On 3/24/18 Michael came to my home and gave me a proposal for $18,000 to do concrete and other miscellaneous work to include fencing. We agreed, he wrote up a contract, both signed and I gave him a deposit of 20% ($3,600) on aforementioned date. He said he would start the project no later than the following week, Monday 4/2/18. The date came and went without any work started, contact from him to reschedule or communication of any new plan. Since then I've repeatedly tried to contact him via text message over 60 times, via his cell phone, Amy's cell phone and his office phone all combined approximately 30 times over the last 5 months. Most my messages went unanswered and when I was able to get communication I was given excuses, followed by new commitments which he repeatedly failed to meet. On 7/19 after speaking with Amy she was very dismissive and clearly frustrated with my call. I came to the conclusion that he was not going to work with me to resolve our issue. I continued to wait an additional 2 weeks and made efforts to contact him with no success. After the 3rd month of nothing from him or his company I proceeded to purchase material and complete the work on my own. I was very clear with him and Amy through this whole process that I was completing this work and in a hurry to sell my property. Due to the delay of this work it has in return delayed the completion and selling of my home. Because of this delay my home has dropped in value approximately 8%. This has substantially hurt me financially, caused undue stress and extra burden on me. On 8/6 I contacted the Sheriff's Department and filed a police report with Deputy Maestas (Incident #TP182180054) out of the Twin Peaks station. On Monday 8/13 Michael contacted me apologizing for not returning my calls or deposit, something we had agreed to two weeks prior when we met at my house. He said he would meet me down the mountain or whatever worked for me because he knew I needed my money back. I responded immediately with my location and thanking him. He then responded about 7 hours later after my phone call to all your numbers that he was dying with an abscess tooth. Since that date I have not heard from Michael or Amy even though I have repeatedly reached out to all his numbers. This is still open and ongoing issue no for over 5 months.

The type of siding we had installed in November of 2016 has proven to be a wonderful addition. It gives much greater insulation as well as is fire rated A so we are doubly protected. We are also happy that the eaves are fully enclosed now so that is an additional protection from many things. The two installers were amazing and totally professional. Great experience overall.

We had our original siding installed by Lakeforest 14 years ago. When I called Lakeforest to get a price quote for a repair, I will be honest, it was a little hard to get in touch with them, but they came right out and repaired some damage to my vacation home. He even had his troubleshooter meet me at my vacation house on a Sunday to help solve an issue with the cable TV cable routing.

Michael will tell you a lot of stuff up front that seems to be lost later or maybe could have been explained better? But the job the installer Genaro did was excellent, the problems are with Michael. He never shows up when he says he will. A BIG thing is he NEVER pulls permits which are required by law. The first day we talked to him we asked "do we need to get a permit" and he said "no I never pull permits" well for whatever reason the country code enforcement showed up at our house after the job was finished, and said we would need to get a permit, The permit was $480 however the county added a $480 fine on top of the permit, Michael refused to pay anything until I got the state of California contractors board involved, then he paid $480. So if you hire him make sure he pulls any required permits or walk away. He also told us he would have Genaro wrap three beams by the front door and now many months later it still is not done. I now am also worried about any warranty issues we might have should there be any problems with the siding because you can call or text or email and you won;t hear back from him until he feels like it.

Fast service and quality job. Only issue was that it took a while to get my cabin keys back. Very minor!

I wanted to enclose my eaves and door openings in vinyl. Michael Kemsky gave me the best price by far over other estimates I had gotten. The service, materials and workmanship I received from Lake Forest Siding was superior. The workmen who came out, Genaro and Natalio were always polite and meticulous in their attention to detail. It was the best home improvement decision I have ever made. Give them a call. They won't disappoint.

This company is amazing. Mike Kempsky has went over and beyond making this project as promised- stress and worry free...He told me he would handle eveything and HE DELIVERED. He re-sided my entire house and rebuilt my main back deck. His crews are TOP NOTCH. The final product looks amazing and has added value to my house. Do not look any further...if you need siding or decks LakeForest Siding IS the ONLY company you should call. I would give 10 stars if I could! Shout out to his employee Lance who has helped me soooo much...Lance even came over to help me install a new stove on his own time when the delivery guys dropped the ball...Can't give these guys enough praise...I might even owe them my first born...LOL Roxanne Dorman

Having retired from a career in law enforcement, I'm always a little skeptical of buying a service and getting what I'm promised at a fair price. In a word, Mike is amazing. The crew he sent out, Chuck, Mike, and Drew, were as good at installing as Mike was as selling me what I needed. Installing new vinyl siding on the front side of my 4 story house over woodpecker and sun worn Masonite siding was absolutely the best thing I ever did. Mike was beyond fair in his price and never budged from his original quote. The quality and end result were above and beyond what I had imagined it would look like. In fact, after seeing how good it was on the front side, I am having the entire 4 story house done with the promise of his same crew coming back to perform the work!! With a lifetime warranty and never having to paint my house again (not to count the major damage repair from the woodpecker holes), I only wished I had met Mike sooner. It is truly a great feeling to have a job completed and know that you did the right thing with the best possible results. Thank you Mike and Amy, and thank you Chuck, Mike, and Drew!!!
