Reviews
Write a ReviewLewis Lawn Care shattered one of my windows while cleaning my yard. Assured me they would repair. Waited 3 weeks and they never came back. They called multiple times to say they would be here, but never came. Yard cleanup was sloppy. Mulch was just dumped, not smoothed out, place over weeds rather removing weeds first.
I hired this company through Home Advisor, they told me my projects would be completed in 1 day. I paid $800 which I thought was very high, but they said they were so close to me and me and my neighbors that I could call them any time. Well, now we have had 4 visits and we are on week 4, and the work has not been completed! They have told me repeatedly they are *too busy to work*. How dumb I was. What they did do, was great. What a shame.
They mowed the yard in the rain. They left many strips of yard un-mowed and did not clean my driveway. Yard decorations were removed and not put back where they belong. I am recovering from hip surgery and am unable to mow my yard at this time. They do not treat customers yards as if they are their own as advertised. I contacted the company and was told someone would be back to make things right but nobody ever showed up or called me. They had no problem cashing my check. I would not recommend this company to anyone!
Did great work but very expensive. Two brothers own the company and did the work. We needed our gutters cleaned. They figured based on 4 hours work for 2 guys ($68.50 per hour each) but completed job on 2.5 ($110.00 per hour each(including lunch)) and had to borrow my ladders to complete the job. They didn't offer to discount the job any, (Supply and demand, I guess.) I would use them again but would negotiate a little more.
Very nice and hard working.
They showed up when they said they would and it took them less time to complete the job than they quoted.
They were promptly and professional. Would recommend they anytime.
I hired Jim to mow my lawn weekly. Being that Jim is new to this business (began in Spring 2019), I knew there was some risk involved but I wanted to give the guy a chance. After all, it is just grass mowing, right? Because this was all new to Jim, he allowed me to set the price. He had no idea what to charge and I offered to pay him handsomely, in hopes of securing a weekly commitment. In the beginning, Jim showed up promptly and on schedule. It took some time to get it right, as he routinely mowed the lawn too short, despite my repeated requests to raise the deck / blade. About the time the cut was satisfactory, he and his crew became lazy. Grass clippings were being blown directly into flower beds throughout the property and no attempts were made to clear them. Consequently, grass began growing in unwanted places. Things only got worse. Following a day or two of rain, Jim would sometimes miss an entire week of mowing. I can understand setbacks, but not entire weeks. Grass grew so long that it began to sprout seed. Seeding grass combined with blowing into flower beds resulted in a big mess. At this point, Jim stopped answering my text messages and refused to return phone calls. What surprised me most is how Jim ended our relationship. It seems he and his staff became disgruntled with the job. We know this because our security cameras routinely picked up conversations of them grousing about the work to be done. You were hired to mow the lawn. You accepted the job. Now you are going to complain that you are expected to mow the lawn? Finally, in the peak growing season, Jim simply decided to not show up and not return calls / texts. He ghosted us in peak season when most lawn caregivers are booked for the season. What kind of businessman does that? Especially without having any kind of conversation with their customer. My take is that Jim took on more work than he can handle and simply burned out. Not a good way to start your business. In short, Jim may do fine if you have a small lot that requires very little effort. My lawn is over an acre and a half and his equipment is far to small that handle such a task.
if paying handsomely for mowing 2.5 acres is 75 , I would hate to know what I should've charged, but anyway, thanks for the review Donna, I believe you might be better off buying a mower, and doing it yourself. I maintain 37 yards , and this is the only formal complaint I've gotten Good luck, I hope you can find someone that will do it for $75, cuz it's a $200 yard if there ever was one
Excellent job. Professional.
They mowed my lawn once and never showed up again. They never contacted me to offer an explanation, and I was unable to reach them by phone.
