I contracted Matthews in October 2016. The salesman was very nice and pretty knowledgeable, however he did fail to mention I would have to find a way to power the sump pumps myself. The administrative side was handled very well in the beginning. The work was completed from Nov. 28 to Dec. 2 to a total cost of $12,386. This included a french drain, two sump pumps, and vapor barrier on the wall. The workman arrived on time every day but left at 3p or 3:15p Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday however they left at 4:30p and 5p respectively. Because they left early the first three days they had to stay late and rush at the end. The vapor barrier was poorly hung and looks like it is hanging off of the walls. The edging around the windows was peeling away from the first day and you can see gobs of silicon. The sump pump was run outside to drainage I had installed. I was informed I would not be given the warranty until I had addressed the drainage outside. I had capped a corrugated wye pipe with a 4" cap. I wanted the sumps run to the wye caps I had installed. The workers argued with me as to how to connect the drainage. The workers punched a 3" hole for a 2" pipe and tried to fill it in with caulk. Now I have to replace the cap to appropriately fit the sump pumps piping. The workers parked a 5 ton dump truck on my yard after being repeatedly asked not to park on the grass. Now my yard is compressed causing hydrostatic pressure to bring water into my garage. What had been a hardly noticeable line in the foundation of my garage has now become a noticeable crack. The workers also left my basement a mess of dust, channeling, and vapor barrier clippings. Now my ducting is filled with dirt and dust and I'm simply unable to keep up with cleaning. In their rush they cemented in one of the clean-out traps. They also broke a light bulb so they just took one from another socket. They would toss their buckets down my steps as they carried materials in and out of the house. Because of the path they walked through my house they managed to break a floorboard. During the initial sale, I had informed the salesman a check would arrive from my bank after the work was complete. Matthews contacted me three times in two days starting the following Monday asking where their payment was. They were supposed to come and address the vapor barrier 12/17/16 however because of inclement weather it was agreed to be postponed. I have not heard from Matthews Wall Anchor since.
