Project: Clean Heating & Cooling Air Ducts & Vents
I contacted the two companies Home Advisor Recommended to have my ductwork cleaned on a condo that was 50 years old. Midway called back immediately and the other company never called. I had closed on my new condo the previous day and noticed an odor in the a/c when I slept there the first night. Midway called back within 10 minutes and said a tech would call within the hour. Shane called and said he could be to me in a half hour or so. I was informed my duct work needed a special chemical cleaning as my ductwork was fiberglass and could not be cleaned the traditional way. I also did not tell them when I called that I was the Service and Sales Director for a HVAC company in NJ. Chad arrived promptly within in 1 hour and did a great job. I had to run out to do an error and Shane stayed on the job till Chad arrived. When Chad was finished with the job he called me to tell the job was complete. I arrived back at the condo 10 minutes later to find that they had gone beyond the call of duty and even cleaned out the filter on the HVAC system that had just been serviced/worked on by another company to complete the home inspection issues. Shane, Chad and Midway all did a great job. I felt it was a bit pricy for the little bit of duct work that they cleaned but that was the fee charged by the company not the service director or technician. All in all I am very happy with the promptness, quality and efficient work that was performed by Midway, Shane and Chad. I have used several contractors from Home Advisor in the past and they all exceeded my expectations.

Had five contractors come to the house and provide quotes. I selected Midway and I'm happy with the job they did and the price they charged.

Pros: prompt, professional, courteous, corrected previous deficiencies without any surprise extra costs. Cons: no major issues, but the stand the Air Handler sits on looks really tacky compared to the slick American Standard Unit it sits on. I would have like the stand, media filter and handler to look closer to one integrated look, but that's minor in the big scheme of things. They also discussed connecting my hybrid heat pump water heater drain line into the AC drain, but that was not completed. They are supposed to followup, with most likely an additional cost for that promise. So again, kinda minor, but it was discussed as a no brainer.
