How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because I like working with my hands and find it fun and challenging to help people solve their electrical problems.

I love working in Long Island and Queens because I grew up in Queens and now live in Baldwin, LI.

We started in this industry in 1970.

We describe our business as Family owned and operated

What's something interesting about you?

I have 5 kids ranging in age from 3 to 21, I am a 2nd degree blackbelt in Shotokan karate and I play the drums in a rock band and in church

Very satisfied with work and price. The contractor reviewed situation and advised I didn’t need six lights in the basement, but could do with three more powerful lights. The result was far better than expected.

First time I ever had to call this company that is run by Kato. Kato is a very professional and experienced individual. He is extremely responsive and from my dealing with other electricians/technicians/engineers, I have to say his company is by far the best. I hail from Ireland and this man gives the Irish a run for their money is been very obliging. He is very reasonable when it comes to prices for his jobs, and they are very punctual. For example, he was supposed to come out my house from 11 to 1 on a sat (called him on Friday evening - not an emergency) --- and his employees were here at 1058. We had other issues with the new dryer that we needed new electrics to be put in and testing of the wiring, breakers and Kato remained committed and helped us all the way. I have no problem in recommending his company and his staff.

Very pricey contractor, charged me over $2000 to move the electrical panel 2 ft to the right of the wall. Didn’t even replace the switches when “upgrading” the panel. Wouldn’t recommend this contractor at all
Response by Mr. Electric, Inc.: The very first statement in this review is incorrect. The total cost of this customer's job including materials and labor was $1600, and was itemized and agreed upon in advance before work was started. The scope of work that was involved took 2 electricians and 8 hours to complete. When we arrived at the job, we had to do significant clean up because we couldn't even access the area where we had to work. We then had to run 6 sets of cables, drill holes, run new lines, install a line and GFI outlet for his bathroom, plus move cables and boxes to fit the panel in. It was not a simple job and the customer received a great price for the work that was done, especially considering the environment we had to work within.

He called three times and asked to come early. He showed up 2 hours early when I wasn't home. He wasn't able to program my remote to my light fixture so he asked me to go back to the store to learn how to operate the remote. He left screws and other debris around the kitchen and dining room. He threatened to leave the job early and undone.
Response by Mr. Electric, Inc.: The morning of this customer's appointment we had a last minute cancellation. I attempted to call the customer to see if he would be available for us to arrive earlier than our original scheduled time. He did not answer, so I left a voicemail. After some time had passed, I attempted to contact him again. When we did speak, I simply asked him if he was available earlier and he indicated he was not. We did NOT show up 2 hours early when he wasn't home. We try to be as efficient with our time management as possible, which is why we were trying to adjust our schedule after the earlier cancellation. We arrived on time for our agreed upon appointment. Apparently, although he did not say anything about it during our phone call, the customer had taken great offense that we had suggested an earlier arrival, and prior to beginning work, he stated that he INTENDED to give us a bad online review. Unfortunately, this customer had purchased a "clearance - open box" fixture and remote. Upon installation of the light fixture, the remote would not respond as the components did not match. There were no instructions or documentation to accompany the item. In order to try to complete the installation for this customer, we asked him to return to the store and get the proper remote which should have been included with his fixture. We offered to wait for him, and did so without any additional charge, although this took up a significant amount of time. When he returned, we completed the installation and he stated, in writing, that he was completely satisfied with the work that was performed. He had other contractors working in the house who did leave debris in their work area, but ours was left clean and tidy. We NEVER threatened to leave the job early OR undone.

He seems to be professional, keeps appointments. His prices are affordable and competitive. He installed a power surge protector for my house. In future also I will use him for my electrical work, provided he is available.
