Project: Hire a Handyman
I waited for over a week for him to do the right thing. After our last conversation, it was evident he was not gonna take care of the issues he created. I tried to be as reasonable as possible.
Response by N J Miller Construction: I was hired to install a pair of doors. While there, he handed me a light switch and asked me to include the installation of the switch in the price already quoted. He was satisfied with the door installation. I installed the switch on my time at no extra cost, exactly as it had been wired. He called me that night yelling at me that it wasn?t working and accused me of doing something to it. He wanted me to fix it at my expense. I believe there was already a wiring problem I wasn?t told about. He showed me that the light was flickering when the original switch was turned on. I installed a switch. I am not an electrician and was not hired to fix wiring. I told him I would get an electrician to look at it. The electrician cancelled on me 2 hours before the appointment, so I was going to have to reschedule. The homeowner then told me to forget it, he would take care of it. I take pride in my work and regret not having a fully satisfied customer. But I also believe in honesty and transparency. He called back to tell me he hired an electrician, and promised to send the report of the work done, but I?ve yet to receive the report.
