The One Hours pop-up at the first when I submitted my information to Home Advisor. We are looking for winter maintenance for our two heat-pump systems. When I called for the price, I make sure that the price was for two systems. The technician didn't show up on the first appointment and of course the bad communication was the one to blame. The technician showed up on 2nd appointment and I learned that the price we agreed on was just for one system. It was around 4:30 pm. The outside is getting dark. The technician spent about 15 minutes walked around outside and the basement then wrote a receipt to us. I don't think it's worth of the money to have someone walked around the system and do nothing. It would be nice if there's a clear instruction for what the technician should do for the regular maintenance.

I received two completely different estimates from their service technicians. One told me I have to replace the furnace and the other replaced a capacitor that fixed the issue. Management is not responsive as well.

COMPLETE FRAUD. Hired them to repair heating system as it stopped working. While inspecting outside unit the technician re connected all the electrical wires he tested and smoke came out of my de-frost board, technician told me board was bad (which I found strange that smoke came out of board when reconnecting wires, something it never did before when wires were connected). Upon putting all wires back, he went up to thermostat, removed cover and found the circuit board was black and fried. He told me that I would need to pay 475 for thermostat, 475 for circuit board, plus 49 service call fee. He also said that more problems might exist as he couldn't test for leaks since system wasn't working. HE ALSO OFFERED TO SAVE ME MONEY BUY GOING AROUND COMPANY AND DOING THE WORK ON THE SIDE. I declined the thermostat install since they cost $40-$100 at home depot and told him to go ahead and charge me $525 for defrost board and service fee. Said it would take a couple days to get part in and they will come back. Fast forward a few hours my father in law (ex HVAC repair man) came over to install the thermostat and checked the unit to make sure the outside unit was turned off (since it hasn't been fixed yet) to avoid hurting the new thermostat. What he discovered was that the wire going from thermostat was incorrectly re hooked up to outside unit which caused more voltage than needed to shoot back to thermostat and fry out the board. After explaining the methods to which he was testing the electrical wires on the outside unit (defrost board), he said there is no way he could of possibly detected a problem with the defrost board and that he was simply guessing and hoping that after replacement would correct problem. My father in law re corrected the wiring mistake and installed thermostat, upon completion we had a fully working heating system. It appeared that a de frost board was not needed and the problem was thermostat. I guess am happy that the tech fried a thermostat that already needed to be replaced but I think the fact that he re wired my unit wrong speaks to training/ HVAC knowledge. After all this I called customer service to cancel order of defrost board and request refund. Was told first thing next morning GM would call me to discuss everything. Never received a call and if you want to speak to local office there are no phone #'s. you have to call 1 # which is scheduling and they relay message. Finally I asked to speak with manager at scheduling and asked them to connect me to GM, service representative ignored request and simply stated that she would issue refund. It was as though they know there service sucks and have problems and just go straight to refund and don't offer customer to speak with tech manager to try and correct problems/mistakes. Spend your money somewhere else and save yourself the headache.
