It was a nightmare dealing with these guys the business is badly run between the owner and his office manager. The beginning of the nightmare was when they filed incorrect permits with the township. They called me to the Township to sign permits, but little did I know that I was signing the wrong permits. The Township was tardy with their response in letting us (them and me) know that the permits that were filed were incorrect. The work was therefore completed not to code and needed to have additional work done. The owner told me that it was going to be a problem and I should ask for a variance, which I did not. I should not have had to do all of this if they filed the correct permits and began and completed the work to the township's specs. Then the nightmare began - to get this fixed and back to code - I was left at the mercy of the owners whims and fancies and several times he sent folks to draw up temporary measures to fix things. Each of the temporary measures came up woefully short non-expert labor, short cuts, incorrect parts etc. It was as if these guys had no clue on how to fix things or werent just interested. They obviously blamed the weather, their schedule and everything else under the sun, but accepted no responsibility. Finally, after three plus months of back and forth, and after incurring additional cost they finally got the job done, the township inspected and passed the job. This included missed schedules and lots of story telling why the work could not be done, and the schedules met. I had to deal with the owner, the office manager throughout the process - very trying. Finally, they got the work done at the end of the job their workers left my front door wide open - with the key missing and all the workers gone. The Township inspector was the first to notice that and left me a voicemail and I showed up at the house and saw the front door wide open. I still had to ask them to come by one more time to fix a shoddy clean up after the job. They did not accept any responsibility for that - no apology. Weeks went by and finally in the interest of getting paid they offered me a minor discount - which I had to ask for. Do whatever you can - but please do not engage with this company. They may have been good at one point, at this time they claim that they have lots of jobs รข more demand than they can handle, they are completely mismanaged, disorganized and downright indignant and if they take your job hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
Response by Premier Waterproofing, LLC: The Township building said only the Plumbing subcode permit application was required for this job. The existing drainage system was improperly installed 15 years ago without permits and illegally connected to the main interior sewer line. The homeowner had no concerns about any of this. The basement was taking on water from this failed drainage system which had clogged many years ago. Our basement system install went in without issue beginning on 12/5. Once the system install was complete, the 2 sump pumps were running constantly due to the enormous amount of water, so we suggested and installed control switches to control a normal cycle rate so the pumps wouldn't burn out. The water from these pumps was being discharged to the exterior side of the house which is a normal set up in most townships. During a walk through on 12/11, the business owner advised the homeowner to call the township immediately to get a variance to discharge the water to a different location. The customer chose not call the township and proceeded to leave town for 2 weeks. While the customer was away, on 12/19, the township denied the permit application stating pumps cannot discharge to daylight. Had we known this on 12/11 (if Indy had called them requesting a variance as only homeowners can do), we could have corrected the situation at that time. PW set up a temporary above ground drain to the sewer grate at the curb in front of the house to alleviate the standing water in the yard and street. This temporary drain leaked in a few spots and PW crew members went out to the property the same day the customer called about the issue and remedied it. An estimate for the additional township approved work was provided to the customer on 1/22. Customer finally approved the work estimate on 2/4, 10+ days after the estimate was provided to him, refusing to pay the required deposit. Premier Waterproofing was completely booked in February so this was scheduled for the week of 3/4. Snow, rain, and frozen ground prohibited excavation and created delays. The trench dig began on Saturday, 2/2. The customer told the crew to stop their work ?at the driveway? so he could ask the township about connecting to the sewer pipe in the middle of his yard instead of at the curb. He says he didn't ?stop? the job. But the crew understood he wanted them to stop the job until he could talk to the township on Monday, 2/4, which further delayed the completion of the job. The crew would not be able to return Monday, 2/4 to finish due to other scheduled work. We were once again having to squeeze his job into an already booked schedule. Had he let the crew continue that Saturday, it would have been completed that weekend. Given multiple weather delays, the trench was finally ready to be inspected and we received approval from the township to backfill it on 2/28. PW returned to complete the trench backfill on 3/6 and found the majority of the ground was frozen. The crew returned once again on 3/14 to backfill, tamp down and seed the trench. The customer micro-managed the job. Most of our crew has been working with us for 15 years. All we hear from customers is that they are very respectful of all homeowner's property and courteous to any person they come in contact with. It's very difficult to have our crew be accused of something we are certain they are not responsible for. Our foreman stated that he put the front door key back and the door was closed when the crew was finished. We have no reason to believe otherwise. The business manager did apologize to the customer (before even talking to the crew) over the phone when he called to let her know the door was left ajar. Interestingly enough, this man does not mention in his review that his basement, yard and street are now BONE dry. And that his rental property is now sellable!

This was just done in August 2018 so stay tuned for a follow up review. So far, so good. Greetings: So, I'll make this simple for the person looking to waterproof their basement. I spent plenty of hours reviewing and searching for a reputable company that would not break the bank, yet provide excellent work. I had many companies come to my house to pitch why they'd be the best. Hell, I believe the neighbors thought I was giving out free cookies or something...lol. Of course the prices fluctuated quite drastically at times, but I felt that Mike came in and was very knowledgeable about the space and the work needed. I decided to go with Premier Waterproofing because Mike was very professional and very responsive when contacting him. Mike returned all of my texts and calls with a follow up text or call, even when the job was finished. This says a lot about their service. I also feel that his crew was professional, and more importantly, knowledgeable and NEAT. They left my property the same way that they found it. They covered all of our belongings and made sure that all of the dust was at a minimum. I'll tell you what really impressed me: The guy that was with the crew the shortest amount of time was with them 5 years. All of the others: 10 - 20 years...VERY IMPRESSIVE!! So now, we wait to make sure that everything stays dry prior to finishing my basement; Moreover, my wife is happy and we all know the saying...HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE. Thx Mike & Crew!!
