Turned out I didn't turn the breaker all of the way off before turning it back on so it didn't work. Prudential came out and charged me $145 to turn the breaker on properly. I asked about a discount and the owner was extremely rude and refused to give me a break for something that took less than a minute.
Response by Prudential Electric, Inc.: Sorry you feel that way. We did however explain to you that we have a minimum hourly fee once we arrive on site. Most companies carry the same policy whereas minimum fees apply...similar to seeing a doctor (co-pay) regardless of how much time doctor spends with you, or car mechanic (diagnosis fee) to evaluate the car trouble. Glad it didn't take long to find your problem. Have a nice day.

My home warranty sent Prudential to look at some outlets that weren’t working in the kitchen. The tech took one look at the remodel I was doing in another room and refused to even go in the kitchen. Unfortunately, his report to the warranty (with no copy to me) said he “traced the issue to the remodel” and the “breakers were fine”. All without looking at a single wire, outlet or breaker. If he was uncomfortable diagnosing because of the remodel, fine. If he looked at it and found that the remodel caused the issue, also fine. But refusing to look, then lying about it later, not fine.
