PUMPHREY PLUMBING came to my house to troubleshoot a leak and pulled up my toilet and FLOODED MY HOUSE. After I got done moving things that were pulled out of the way during this catastrophe, I tried using my vacuum to be sure they got up all the water....AND THEY DID NOT, SO I CALLED THE PLUMBER AT 5:45PM and told him to send someone back that night to remove the water before MOLD sets in. He said that they had removed all the water and that no one would be coming back that night. I told him they had NOT REMOVED ALL THE WATER, since I was still picking it up with my vacuum, and asked him to come with stronger equipment, so that MOLD would not develop. He had someone call me to make an appointment for the next day. I called him back and told him I need the cleanup THAT NIGHT SO THAT MOLD WOULD NOT DEVELOP, since my online research showed that MOLD CAN DEVELOP WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE WATER DAMAGE. He told me that MOLD would not develop that soon. I WARNED HIM THAT I MAY HIRE A LAWYER TO GET MY MONEY BACK, SINCE I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO PAY FOR A MOLD REMEDIATION COMPANY, since my vacuum was not powerful enough to pickup all the water. He told me to CALL A F***** LAWYER THEN. I hung up the phone. What kind of reputable plumber #1 pulls up a toilet without shutting off the Water Main? And #2, what kind of reputable plumber that floods your house, do not respond to their customer, to totally remove the toilet water, they have just poured all over their house? BEWARE FOLKS! DO NOT PUT YOUR HOUSE AND HEALTH (MOLD) AT RISK BY HIRING PUMPHREY PLUMBING! I REALLY WISH SOMEONE HAD WARNED ME! Hope this REVIEW helps someone else.

    Response from Company:

In this particular case, it was not necessary for him to turn the main valve off to change the wax ring for the toilet. When we turned the valve off and disconnected the toilet, we found that the leak was not in the wax ring but in the connection in the wall from the brass valve to the CPVC fitting; it was cracked. When the supply tube was disconnected from the toilet the crack got worse, broke and water came out and then we shut the main valve off. We used a shop vacuum to help remove excess water to the best of our ability. We repaired the leak and reset the toilet. Expressing dissatisfaction, we decided not to charge for the service. We received a call later that evening requesting that someone come to remedy the situation further, however, we did not have the equipment to do so. We contacted a restoration company and in turn they contacted the customer to send someone out, but they did not have anyone available that evening but could send someone first thing in the morning. The customer insisted someone come that evening. We asked the restoration company to follow-up the following morning, however, was declined to come to the property for service. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (https://www.epa.gov/mold/ten-things-you-should-know-about-mol), ??to prevent mold from forming clean and dry any damp or wet building material and furnishings within 24-48 hours to prevent mold growth.? Although we did not have anyone available at the preferred time, we wanted to ensure that someone addressed this within the parameters established by the EPA. We truly regret that you had an unacceptable experience with us. Since we did encounter a problem, we were doing our best to provide a solution and arrange for a professional service for cleaning at no charge. We are sorry that our options were not ideal.

    Response from Company:

We appreciate you taking a moment to provide us your thoughts. Feedback from our customers is important. We will always strive to do our best and provide our customers with 5 star service. We see that we fell short in customer service and note that value for the money was less than average. We regret the experience was not optimal, however, given the competition for this particular type of service we have found that our rates are comparable to those in the market. We hope that end result was reflective of our overall efforts. Thank you for hiring Pumphrey Plumbing to address your plumbing needs.

Most reasonable price. Completed job in less than 3 hours. Resolved issues others identified and still was the lowest estimate. Would highly recommend them.

After a year of bad plumbing from several bad plumbers it was a joy to work with Pumphrey plumbers. They were the best plumbers I ve ever encountered. Great service! Great attitude. It was just a joy to have someone like them do the work. I highly recommend them.

Very responsive. Quick and accurate work including little extras like caulking around pipes. While plumbing work is not often needed, Pumohrey will be the one I call in the future.
