Review by in Raleigh, NC
I hired Mr. Briggs and his company, RDU Construction, to renovate a few rooms in my home, as well as to do the electrical, the lighting, the plumbing, and the locks on the house doors. Most of the work was done either by himself or an assistant, and it turns out that they do not know how to do everything they promised to do. They agreed to re-do all the locks on the house doors. None of the doors in the house close or lock at all. There was a problem with too much creaking in the sound of the floors (I asked them to fix this), and they said they would, but the creaking never went away. Mr. Briggs did do a good job on the electrical work in the house and the lighting, but the plumbing work throughout the house was poorly done and I have had to hire many contractors to come back and fix their mistakes. I felt they were very greedy with me and bought quite a few materials without my permission or notification that ended up on my bill. I am unhappy that I paid for their service only to have to find multiple professionals to fix the many issues resulting from their work. The owner seemed like a gentleman and a professional when I first met him, and it turned out that he was a very threatening and aggressive man. He threatened me on multiple occasions. He would would try to fight with me, sometimes going so far as to point his fingers in my face, warning me that if I continued to press him for the things I needed fixed, he might erupt. I would not recommend this company because I did not feel safe, listened to, or kept in the financial loop of the project I paid for.
