I hired Ron who presented himself as a smooth wall expert. He was hired to drywall a large custom home with a level 4 smooth wall finish. He described his crew as experts and seemed very confident and professional. Much to my surprise Ron did not bring in his crew to my home but used all subs for our 7500 sq/ft dream home. Ron did scramble to keep the job going. We had a different crew ever 3-4 day. The mud and tape work were done by Jose L who sent different crews every couple days and we experienced the following. Drywall was hung too loose, so during the mud and tape process, screws would pop through the mud where ever we pushed on the walls. It seemed that all screws should have had one or 2 more turns to bring drywall tight to the studs. Shims were not used anywhere in the house so our walls and ceilings had a wavy lumpy appearance. Mud was too thinly applied to all joints so the seams popped as soon as we applied paint. Mud was partially sanded in most areas so corners and edges looked terrible. The drywall guys placed their boards over brackets and hangers rather than cutting out drywall and using hot mud. Ron was asked to finish by May 1 2023 but he finished May 15th. He was paid in full for the job and said his guys would return for touching up areas. As I began inspecting areas I found countless bad spots. Rounded corners, lumps and visible tape in corners. Ron said he would fix everything. Ron sent 1 or 2 worker daily until the end of June. They would stay for 45-90 mins and patch one item then leave. After repeatedly telling Ron to send 4-6 guys for 1-2 days and get the work done I had had enough of his games. Painting was scheduled to begin June 30th. Ron had from May 15th to June 30th to touch up the spots they missed. On July 11th my painters approached me and said they need to stop. Our drywall was too bad to paint and need to be fixed first. We found an experienced drywall finisher to come in and inspect the job. He said that the finish level was a level 3 mud and tape like would would do to a garage and then apply texture. He walked the job with Ron and the painter and showed Ron the countless popped seams and bad joints. Ron kept saying he had no idea how it happened. If he had ever once come out to work at the job site and manage the crew, inspect the work and manage the job then perhaps this would not have happened. We spent $10,000 on a specialist to manage Rons Subs and re mud and tape every wall and ceiling in the house. We spent another $14,000 to primer and repaint the house. Rons guys broke a very expensive vanity, they stood on and damaged a fireplace mantle, damaged cabinets and did not cover the floor when the re tapped the basement. Ron repeatedly told me, our GC , the painter and our Drywall contractor that he would do what ever was needed to make it right. He told each contractor he would pay their bill and asked them to send him the bill. Now, Ron is running away. Not answering his phone and telling me he does not have the money to pay the bill. I paid $87,000 for crap drywall job and now another $24,000 to fix his terrible work. NERVER HIRE THIS FOOL TO DO ANYTHING TO YOUR HOME. HE IS NOT A CONTRACTOR, he is all full of bluster and BS.

Ron was very nice. He bid the job and didn't alter the price later. He had a good crew out, especially Matt was a very good craftsman and a personable young man. They fixed our ceiling that previous roof leaks destroyed in three places. The whole section had to be cut out, about 39 SF. Ron had to patch that big hole, put in insulation, texture to match the existing brocade texture and paint it to match. Now the job is finished and you could not tell the new from the old. Ron went out of his way to get it all done before Thanksgiving. We're very happy with his work and friendly demeanor. We would definitely recommend him.
