Project: Hire a Handyman
Don t get me wrong, Rich is a nice man. I just would never hire him again due to the length of time it takes him to do one project. It took him 8 1/2 hours to install a new kitchen faucet, an outdoor flood light and four light switches At $65 an hour. When he was working in the house his tools would be outside, when working outside his tools would be inside the house therefore he was constantly walking back-and-forth just to complete one job. If you do use Rich make sure you get a per job quote first.

Project: Hire a Handyman
He tracked down some very unusual bulbs for my ceiling fixtures and he was very conscientious about doing the work in replacing the one that had burned out, undoing one of the others to ee how they were assembled.

Project: Hire a Handyman
I hired him end of Sep to do carpentry work on the exterior of the house. He quoted me $1000.He wanted to be prepaid for the work. She went out of town and he said he would do the work while she was out of town. He installed plywood on a existing wall for privacy in a sun room. He primed it and painted some of it. She went to Home Depot and bought a new door. Then I wanted him to install a new door. He said it was the wrong door so he took it to back to Home Depot. He never did get it installed. Then I found out it was the wrong door. Home Depot had to bring out the right door. I was going to have him do several other projects but I decided not to have him do any of this work because he didn't do most of the projects I asked him to do. When he came to do the work he brought his dog and let it in the house and the dog peed all over my house. I asked him to bring back my key. When he brought back my key he left left the key under the door mat and left me a nasty note.
Response by Rich's General Maintenance Service - Unlicensed Contractor: She complain about my work after she was happy with my work. She unhappy person to deal with and impatience. All the months with Home Advisor and all the customers I did work for have been happy with my work. She spoke badly about my dog. She paid me $1,000 to update the sunroom. Before and during the project she wanted to do various of changes in turn delayed getting the project to be completed. After the completion of the project she was happy with the work. That same day she order online though Home Depot a 1 and 3 quarters x 80 inches for door for me to pick up at Home Depot to find out it was an interior door I called her up to let her know she order the wrong type of door she instructed me to return the door. I told her the correct size of door that is needed for the back door in size would be 1 and 3 quarts x 80 in. pre hung exterior door she didn't want the door that I picked up and deliver to her home. Her existing back door 77inches in height told her it needed to be standard height. Extra work I did I didn't charge her for. At this point in time I still maintain good reference for all my clients through Home Advisor.

He just doesn't know when he is in way over his head. He caused more damage and cost me more than if he had just said - you need a plumber not a handyman.
