Business Overview

Community Involvement

I try to donate to local activities when I am able (festivities, door prizes, fireworks, etc.)

I help the elderly in my neighborhood for free on the small things or with a deep discount on the larger things

When I remodel I do my best to remove everything in one piece to donate to Habitat for Humanity in Rockford or Freeport

How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because I have been remodeling, repairing and building homes since1975. I got my start by moving 3 older houses across the city of Elgin and renovating them to new condition. I am fasinated by the construction methods that I find when I open the walls to remodel or even when I inspect a house. There is always something new and I just love discovering these things not to mention the challenge to figure it out. I earned my Home Inspectors license from the state of Illinois in 2003.

We started in this industry in 1975.

We describe our business as Family owned and operated

Can a house pass or fail an inspection?

No, Not by me. My job is to educate you on the condition of it so that you can decide importance

Project: Inspect a Home
We hired Paul for the third time to do a home inspection for us. Each time we have hired him over the years, he has provided a very thorough and complete report of all potential issues with the home. He goes through everything with you and leaves you feeling confident that you know what you are buying. We strongly recommend hiring him for home inspections.

Project: Inspect a Home
I have had the opportunity to have a home inspection performed by Paul twice within the past few months. Thanks to his incredibly thorough work, I was able to see that while the house I put an offer on was cosmetically in solid shape, the foundation, electrical, and mechanical were far from it and it would be an absolute money pit. Paul actually took the time to walk me through the house and highlight some of his concerns but he also put together a super detailed inspection report, complete with pictures highlighting issues. I would definitely use Paul in the future and just as he was recommended to me, I would recommend him to anyone looking for a home.

Project: Inspect a Home
Inspector was very professional, contacted me right away upon being matched by the site. He made accommodations on a Sunday to meet my needs. Despite the weather, his inspection was thorough and was able to inform us and educate us on all findings, safety being the priority. Home was a new construction, inspector took his time to answer all of our questions being patient with us first time home buyer. Will definitely use his services again for future inspections.

Project: Inspect a Home
I was very happy with his inspection. He was very thorough. Walked around the whole property and found anything that would be a concern. He had pictures of any problems. Explained what he found and what should be done to fix the issues. I would use him again.

Project: Inspect a Home
Inspector showed up on time. First thing was to ask me what my concerns about the property. He then started on the outside, roof first. Taking pictures of anything I couldn't directly see or any problems which would be in the report. I went along the entire time (except for the roof) and had all my questions answered while being instructed as to what was in proper code, what needed to be fixed, what was going to need to be fixed down the road, and more importantly what was unsafe. Another important aspect of this inspector was to tell me what shotty work had been done or where and why corners were cut on a past job on the property. This was especially important since bad work completed and functional will always cost one more money down the road to redo and complete correctly. Inspector flipped every switch, turned every knob, opened every door and window, stuck his head or hand into any hole possible, checked everything and anything involved with the utilities of the property. Was very deliberate and never in a hurry. Never left a room until it was completely checked top to bottom. Sent me a full report the next day including pictures with arrows and full explanations of any concerns. Even if a was going to clear up some concerns on my own while letting the homeowner know what needed to be cleared up. I have used the same company twice now and got a discount and the second inspection (even though it was a year later on a different property, and I didn't know I was getting it). When all was done, felt I had a very clear understanding of a property a large chunk of my money was going into to. Was very satisfied.
