My pool vacuum had broken and we had a lot of rain and my pool was full of algae. Rich came out and told me it would take up to $500 and my pool would be clear by the weekend (it was a thursday). He said that the cost would depend on the amount of chemicals required and that he would notify me if the price would be in excess of $500.I went out of town that weekend and when I returned on monday the water was clearer but the pool was still not usable. A week later I received a text message saying that my filter grids needed to be replaced. I was not given an updated estimate but foolishly agreed. All in all it was a month before my pool was swimmable, but it was still not the crystal clear conditions I had experienced for the prior two years. I then received a bill for over $1600. A week later we had heavy rainfall and my pool was green and algae filled again. To be clear, I had never had a problem before that. I informed Shymring pools that I no longer needed their services. Hired another company, and for less than they estimated ($450) my pool was crystal clear within two days. I am not sure if Rich was conning me or just incompetent but either way, trusting my pool with this company was an expensive mistake.
Response by Shymring Pools: Well the other company didn't have to fix everything that was wrong we did. When we started this job the pool was a mess. I told customer to get rid of algae and doing treatments and filter cleanings amount would be around 500 then I did tell her if I find anything wrong I would always call her and I did just that as soon as we tore filter apart and realized all the Dr grids had holes in them and manifold had a big crack in it along with the backwash piston needed new o rings. I called her she gave me the okay to do job so I did it. I also noticed pool cleaner was not working right so I told her about that as well. We spent a lot of
