So far so good but my things are in storage. Let us hope the second leg is as good as the first leg.

Both loading and unloading crews were great to work with...friendly, quick, efficient, and most importantly they were very careful with my furniture. They arrived on time, started work immediately, had a really organized process, and all the guys worked really well together. I couldn't have asked for a smoother out of state move...i highly recommend them, and would use them again in a heartbeat.

My move was fairly sudden, and I was not sure what to expect. The moving crew were top of the line in every way. Fast and efficient, they were careful and kind - to me and to my furniture. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

The estimate was fair and accurate. The crew was on time, quick but careful and very courteous. The entire experience was pleasant and it took a lot of stress from moving away.

Kenneth, William, Edwin and Levi did a fantastic job. They loaded the truck quickly and carefully. Kenneth went over the paperwork and explained the process of inventorring all the items loaded on the truck. My furniture was delivered the next day and they were careful to put down runners to prevent damage to hardwood floors. Again, they worked quickly, and carefully. The price charged was the agreed to price. I would absolutely recommend Southeast Van Lines.

I am a business executive that has moved professionally six times in the past eight years. My experience with Southeast Van Lines has been nothing short of appalling. The owner, Mr. Benjamin David, sold me full coverage insurance ($50K, $500 deductible) and I contracted with Southeast to pack 100% of my belongings and transport them from Atlanta to Michigan. When the goods arrived in Michigan (on time) and I had the opportunity to unpack the boxes, I was horrified at what I saw. Expensive computers were not packed and placed into boxes. Rather, they were simply tossed into a large box with other household items - unwrapped and unprotected. The computers were crushed and smashed. I had a nice wardrobe with over 40 pairs of shoes costing over $500/each, each set came with the protective cloth bags. Southeast removed the wooden shoe trees from the shoes and simply tossed the wooden trees and expensive shoes into a box without wrapping them or placing them into their protective bags. Ruined. Are you familiar with the wardrobe boxes? Instead of hanging my dress shirts, suits and slacks on the hanging rod in the wardrobe box, Southeast simply balled up my clothes and piled them into the box from bottom to top. They literally smashed and compressed the clothing to jam it into the wardrobe box in order to close the lid. Everything wrinkled beyond belief the packing I paid for was not done. I wonder what they were thinking was going to happen when I opened these boxes? Most of my furniture was damaged either through negligent packing or because members of the crew were too physically weak to carry them. I saw them drop a dresser on the floor at least twice because they could not take more than two steps with it. Finally, I went to submit my claim of $12,000 to Mr. David and Southeast. Mr. David sold me additional insurance coverage, full replacement insurance that covers $50,000 with a $500 deductible. When I turned in my claim, they offered me a settlement of $600 on a $12,000 claim. My subsequent calls and emails to Mr. David and the office went unanswered. First, there is no voter registration or record of anyone in Atlanta, Fulton County, Cobb County or any county around Atlanta with an individual named "Benjamin David" matching the guy at Southeast whose name is on their business card. Second, his own employees won't say if that is his real name or whether or not he owns the company. Southeast never checked the original condition of my goods before packing - something I have never seen a moving company fail to do. They always do it to protect themselves against claims upon delivery. Now I know why. They don't care what condition the goods are in because they have no intention of paying the claim outright - even with additional insurance. Their startegy is to wear you down, get you to agree to new terms and conditions, and so on. This contract is headed to litigation.

    Response from Company:

To whom it may concern, My name is Benjamin David and I met with the customer and gave him a bid. The quote was $7000(I'm rounding the figure a little bit) and we promised to come on a specific date, pack, load and go straight to Michigan. We showed up on the date we promised, packed everything and arrived in Michigan on the same date we promised. We charged exactly what we promised and were as punctual as clockwork. Now, I understand some people think that if they buy insurance there's a certain dollar amount available for them to get by simply saying the right things and paint the right picture. Please remember that step one is to agree what damage was done by movers and what wasn't. Southeast Van Lines-out of customer service only-never contested on weather the damages were caused by us or not. Besides, how do you answer when someone complains about his clothes being wrinkled? how do I know they weren't before? This is not said as a joke, it is my 24th year as a mover and majority of the phone conversations I had with the customer after the move(a few of them) were about his clothes.I answered all his calls by the way. continue, we looked at the damage list he provided, we never argued it and we offered the customer $1100 which we believe is very generous. He had a $500 deductible so the final amount would be $600. He showed 2 computers or monitors broken and a chip on a cabinet and overall as annoying as it is, I understand, to suffer damages, the amount and scale of damage sustained in this shipment was not close to the apocalypse described by the customer. He wants $12,000. Twelve thousand dollars!! No joke. Like I indicated before, this is not my first Rodeo, and when a person starts from the get go to threaten you with bad reviews and reputation damage and describe how horrible his wrath will be and that I should "govern myself cautiously" as he's not in a Donald Trump tweets caliber but he will have tens of thousands of people look at the bad experience with Southeast Van Lines he started(I kid you not) than you understand he's trying to intimidate you info agreeing to take part in Insurance fraud. Well, I will not take part of Insurance fraud and I will go to litigation and I'm not concerned about Southeast's reputation as we move thousands of people every year and I know how happy they are and frankly that's what keeps us going. When your'e in the service industry your'e liable to find yourself in this situation every now and than. We've done nothing wrong, we treated this customer fairly and he chose to be unreasonable. I have full confidence in justice prevailing eventually and Southeast Van Lines will continue to serve the community with high quality service and integrity. Thank you very much, Benjamin David(a real person, not a ghost).
