Southern Buckeye

My husband and I are senior citizens. We hired Chris to build a 66" round table for our kitchen. It took 10 months to get the table and when we received the table it wobbled. I placed vinyl placemats on the table and the paint absorbed the pattern of the place-mats. Chris then told me Sherwin Williams had a bad batch of paint. I spoke with Sherman Williams and they denied this fact. That was two months ago and my husband and I have left several voice messages and Chris has not returned our calls. Don't believe these excellent reviews, they're all phony. I am a pastor for a local church and I thought I had a good sense of people's character but Chris has shown me differently.

Chris, the owner of Southern Buckeye, did an outstanding job on our new mantel. He removed the dated 90s mantel that we had and built a brand new piece for us out of reclaimed chestnut. The craftsmanship is wonderful. It transformed our family room and gave it a real farm house feel. He also painted the room for us and wired the television above the mantel. He was super easy to work with, friendly and willing to hear your input on the project. His pricing is fair and he completed the job in a timely manner. He was very responsive via phone and email. We plan to use him for future projects.

Chris built a custom project that came out beautiful. Attention to detail, quality of workmanship and finish work was excellent. He is a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend him.

Chris truly deserves the rating of Master Craftsman. He earned this rating from the renowned Norm Abrams of the NewYankee WorkShop. Our experience with Southern Buckeye is and has been a pleasure. Chris built and installed new kitchen cabinets, and also refinished other cabinets to match the new installation. He is meticulous when it comes to detail; yet has a pleasant, easy going temperament, and readily accepts changes in scope of work. His prices are reasonable, and workmanship is excellent. He is new to the Kentuckiana area; but I would give him the highest recommendation possible without reservation.

Southern called us immediately and came out on the weekend. They said they would give us an estimate that evening and they did. They gave us options and a time table for completion. The total cost was very reasonable and the project was completed on time. We will use them in the future and recommend them to others Claude & Bernadine
