No communication, 8 hours late, and went ridiculously longer than estimated First, I want to clarify that the crew itself was courteous and didn't stop working for even a minute despite poor conditions. So apparently a lot of issues were caused by rain the day before. I understand (now) that rain-slick ramps are unsafe, but when they still had x number of jobs the night before and we were the first job scheduled the next day, they should have at least alerted us and at most scheduled more crew. Also, they wouldn't have been delayed by rain at load/unload if they arrived any time before 4pm. It would have also been nice to know that rain can delay a job, since we had to vacate the apartment the day of the scheduled move. Aside from that, the poor guys were given an unusable dolly so - with most of the distance from door to truck being stairs - they went nearly twice as long as any of the estimates that I gathered. Again, I understand that it's an *estimate* but 7.5 hours vs. 3-4?!?! With all of this, we're asking for a 2-hour discount ($176). They finally contacted me after 3 days and gave a one hour discount.

I believe This company is just taking people's money. They never showed up for my move and I had to call them multiple times. All I got was excuses and a broken contract for my $100 deposit. My husband checked this company out on the BBB and they rated F. Home Advisor you need to do a better job at screening that's why I used your service because I didn't have time to do it myself. I'm disappointed because now Im down to the wire and have to try to find another mover and at the same time I have to try to get my money back from this company.

I called and made moving reservations with this company a week before my move. I was quoted on the phone a rate of $44.00 per hour per moving employee, I therefore made an electronic deposit of $100.00. When I received the confirmation e-mail the quote estimate was changed to a rate of $133.00 per hour per employee at a time estimate of 5 hours. I was willing to overlook the price change and made the effort of breaking down all of my furniture and moving everything downstairs for easy accessibility and courtesy of the movers. Arrival time estimated was from 12:00pm- 2:00pm and at 2:20pm with time concerns I reached out to the company owner and shortly received a call back and was told that there is "Severe Weather Delays" and the movers are expected to be 2 hours late. After waiting 2-1/2 hours later approximately 4:30 I received a call from the movers explaining they would now be another 45 minute delay. I was very upset and reached out to the owner of the company via telephone and was told that there was still "Weather delays" and the owner began to become rude and angry with my daughter and I. I verbally became upset and told the owner that we are a household with a "Disabled Autistic child and this is unacceptable and not okay!!" After abruptly hanging up with the owner, the owner and movers continuously called my phone angrily. I had to turn off my phone to avoid the numerous angry calls that I received from this company. I am outraged that HOME ADVISOR would even recommend this company on their site. They left my disabled child without a bed to sleep on tonight, I am having to book a hotel room until I can get another moving company confirmed. This is NOT OKAY!!! I work for a government non-profit and for a company to be rude and harassing me via phone is NOT OKAY! I am disgusted and outraged. SO SAD at the humanity of this company.
Response by Special Ops Moving, LLC: Perhaps Maria was confused but price of this move was $132 per hour for 3 men (not each) the price NEVER. Changed. The move was scheduled 12-2pm and we were delayed due to severe thunderstorms. We would have arrived 2 hours 20 minutes late. Not ideal but the best we can do. We never called anyone angry and in fact we are the ones that took the brunt of the angry remarks. We understand though it?s a stressful time and we apologize. I was in the military and moved alot. This was definitely one of my best moves. They came on time, were very professional and very careful with my things. Unloading was as smooth as the loading. I would recommend this company to anyone.

They let my dog get out. All they had to do was shut the front door when moving her from bedroom to bedroom. She was killed by a car the next day. Also damaged my dining room table and there was missing pieces to both beds.
Response by Special Ops Moving, LLC: we are heartbroken over what happened to Ashley's dog. we are all dog owners (both crew members have dogs) and in fact our company for years has donated EVERY month to the ASPCA (we can provide written proof of this). We don't know exactly how Ashley's dog got loose. its terrible and we are so upset over this that our new policy is we will cancel a move if there is a pet in the home and the owner is not there to personally attend to the pet. we are VERY VERY sorry this happened and will won't allow it to happen again. we will file a claim for the damage to the table.

One of the worth experiences in my life. Instead of 9:00 am scheduled time, they showed up at 8:45 pm after all day long phone calls and messages. Move was not done till almost 2:00 am. I was moved back every few hours and supervisor on duty advised that they are overbooked and behind and tried to move me to Sunday, which I refused. He then said that they'll give me a discount because of all the delays, but that never happened either. I sent an e-mail to the company and all I got back was that my e-mail was sent to the management for reply, which haven't come in yet.
Response by Special Ops Moving, LLC: we are sorry about this job. we had weather roll in and it slows us down tremendously (wet ramps get dangerous and crews can get hurt and damage can occur so we have no choice but to stop). we offered to reschedule the job to the next morning to make things easier. on a good note there was no damage and the cost was below budget. we DID apply a discount for being late (we will verify this)

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Unprofessional, extremely shady company. Use at your own risk. Did not wrap belongings when picked up, charged hundreds more than quoted, large items moved were broken, dirty, and missing. Showed up 9 hours late for delivery. The manager, James, is the rudest person I have ever talked to and the owner of the company, Mike Gayton, is somehow even worse. They communicated with my credit card company to get paid twice. Now they will not answer any calls from me or my credit card company. I highly encourage anyone who has had a bad experience with Special Ops Moving to file a complaint.

Hannah disputed her credit card (like stopping payment on a check) for "unauthorized transaction" our agreement with VISA and MC is that we MUST respond to this with proper documents (which did) in the mean time, using this dispute process Hannah's mother (the card holder) sent us a check for a lower amount. when visa overturned the chargeback which was the correct thing to do in this situation we sent Hannah her check back. we definitely NEVER charges anyone twice

Some of my furniture was broken (white drawers sat up on end and items placed inside to stack up). The guys were so nice but having broken items upon unpacking was so disheartening. I wouldn't hire again. I even gave them a large tip.

This company saved my life during a move when the movers couldn't figure out how to get two pieces of furniture out of the house. I had to hire Special Ops to take the two pieces out of the rooms they were in.

Without a doubt the worst moving experience I have ever had, and I move frequently. I cannot in good conscience recommend these movers. They had no tools, no dollies, no ramp to the truck. It took them 6.5 hrs to load; 1.5 to unload with me helping on both ends. I finally carried up all the boxes from the basement myself since it was taking so long to load. I've moved with more stuff and loading took 4 hrs max in the past. My stuff only filled half the truck. They carried one to two boxes at a time by hand and had to climb in and out of the truck. They made little comments about how much stuff I had and how tired they were, and the guy whose 1st day it was kept making jokes about quitting. It also took them more than 15 min to take the front door off rather than carrying the table out the back. Apparently neither one knew how to do it and I had to provide the tools. Then I had to chase them down as they were pulling away to make them come back and put the door back on. At the new place they threw their pads on the ground then complained because their were spiders on them afterwards. It was just a horrible experience. Unfortunately my mother tipped them because she thought she was supposed to and was trying to help. They did not deserve the tip. Do not hire this company.
