Really shocked at the outcome here. I had hired Frank's company to install flooring and a ceiling fan about a year ago -- basic work, but everything was fantastic. So when it came time to renovate my bathroom, he was the obvious choice. The price was reasonable, and as noted my previous experience was excellent. Hindsight being 20/20, this was not a good decision. The overall job was fine -- floor tile, vanity/medicine cabinet installation, paint, etc -- but his workers basically ruined the shower with an unbelievably sloppy job installing the tile. Grout was smeared everywhere, which got into the texture of the tile and has proven to be impossible to remove. It basically looks like somebody smeared a bunch of paint or cement all over it. (This was in addition to various delays along the way.) Several contractors I contacted in the hopes of fixing this said there was absolutely no reason for such sloppiness after I sent them photos. (They both said there are tools that allow for the precise application of grout, whereas Frank and his worker both tried to blame it on the fact that the tile is textured.) I finally located a grout cleaning specialist who had no doubt he could fix it. I was skeptical, which proved to be well-founded when not even he was able to clean it up. Direct quote: "This is the first time I haven't been able to do what I said I was going to do." I hate leaving such a negative review. But at the end of the day, they completely screwed this up with very preventable sloppiness, compounded by the fact they never really took the initiative to try to come up with a solution.
Response by Spectrum Home Repair: I am glad you were happy with the overall job but I am sorry that we could not meet your expectations with the shower itself. We did come back three or four times with different products to try and remedy the situation. A different approach to the type of tile chosen could have produced different results. We are working to improve that situation in the future. We wish you all the best.

When selling my home, the inspection revealed some rotting siding and trim boards. I received quotes from several contractors and Spectrum's quote was the most reasonable and detailed. I dealt with Frank directly. The workers showed up on time, completed the work quickly and cleaned up thoroughly. I was completely satisfied with both the quality of the work and the professional manner of everyone involved. Frank always responded quickly to address any questions or concerns that I had. I will definitely keep his number handy for any future work.

Frank and his crew were very professional and did a fantastic job! I am very pleased with the work and they did it in less time than estimated at a reasonable price. I would recomend Spectrum and Frank for any job.

Not happy with the contratcor I went with. Frank Beck had the best reviews online, but the painter he sent me was very, very unreliable. He was supposed to work on Thursday and Friday. He did not show on Thursday and on Friday arrived after 4:00 PM after I had called Frank Beck multiple times telling him the painter had not arrived. There is more to the story but I don't have time to complete.

We were advised of the work steps daily and the work plan for the next day. We experienced the changes only due to weather. And they also told us to point out things so that we were happy of their work.

Project: Hire a Handyman
I have had Spectrum Home Services of North Atlanta perform 4 different upgrades, and have been pleased with all of the work. They have built door frames, tiled floors, and installed support bars, and all the the work has been excellent. The workers are on time, respectful and do a great job. The work is so good I am willing to show to all my friends and visitors when they come to visit.
