Just hired for Roof inspection on house I was trying to purchase. Contract fell through and didn't purchase. I knew the roof would need to be replaced in a couple years and planned to replace once I purchased and owned the home (had the cash in hand). Due to the inspection the mortgage company would not approve due to inspection and owner would not replace in order to sell house. Depending on your perspective... I just needed to get a replace in 3 yrs like the home inspector had previously gave (who was not influenced by me in anyway). I would have used them to replace roof had I bought but won't use them in the future. Note the person that bought the house still has not replaced the roof...I understand they are in the business of selling roof jobs but they pushed it too much. I walk away when salesmen push too much. There is always another company that can do the job.

Storm Guard responded quickly to my request for a quote to replace my roof. A photo and bio of their representative was sent to me and my wife. Eric arrived on time took the necessary measurements and submitted a quote at the conclusion of his inspection. Their crews were very efficient with their time and did a thorough job cleaning up when they completed their work. Several of my neighbors stopped by during their work to get information about Storm Guard.

They were very responsive to my requests. We needed to make one design change after the installation and they were very responsive in fixing the problem. Considered the overall job well done and with good value.
Response by Storm Guard Restoration of North Houston: Thank you, Tom.

Project: New Windows - 3-5
The installers were first class - I would hire them again. HOWEVER... billing was messed up. They eventually charged the correct amount, but only after I questioned them. We asked for almond color windows, but received white. Due to the long wait time for fabrication, we decided to keep the white windows. The locks were missing on one of the windows. It's been two weeks since we asked them to fix it. they sent a person to install one of the two missing locks (wrong color), and they promised to fix it over two weeks ago, but still no locks. I had to fabricate a wooden dowel to secure the window. The worst thing is that the bedroom windows were an upgrade (Silent Guard) which are supposed to attenuate external sound. Our neighbors had a party the weekend after installation, and we were extremely disappointed with the sound attenuation. The non-Silent Guard windows performed as well as the Silent guard windows (not that well). I was very disappointed with the upgraded windows, and I feel that we wasted money on the upgrade. I spoke with the fabricator of the windows and told them of the issue we were having, and the rep shrugged it off. At least the thermal characteristics of the windows seem to be working well. I summary, this was not their best showing and definitely they have room to improve... If you use this company, be sure to watch what they order and how much they bill you. Don't bother with the Silent Guard upgrade - this is a complete waste of money. Insist on getting everything done before the final billing - I suggest holding back 10% retainage to keep them engaged.
Response by Storm Guard Restoration of North Houston: Yes, we messed up the billing when my office assistant picked the wrong price from the options presented to Mr. Cline. He advised us and we immediately cut him a check for the difference. What he didn't elaborate on was that he informed us he was due roughly $29 for the over billing. When brought to our attention he was incorrect and the actual amount we refunded to him was over $500 as he did not recall making a prior payment. To prevent further errors of this type, the sales person highlights the final price. As far as the color, both white and almond were discussed and he selected white at the time of sale. We have alerted the manufacturer of the missing lock piece and they sent the wrong color and are now sending the correct locks. Finally, Silent Guard does not mean sound proof. They are designed to reduce noise by roughly 25% over normal windows.

I got in touch with Storm Guard via Home Advisor on my mobile phone on my drive home. Within minutes I was connected with Storm Guard and they actually met me at my house by the time I arrived home for an estimate! We went over my project - which consisted of adding gutters to the sides of my house and installing gutter screens to guard against leaves and debris from clogging the gutters. I had a very fair estimate the next day and contacted them to schedule the work. I think it was less than a week lead time and they completed the work with excellent quality. Ken the owner and his son Erik were a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond to make sure I was fully satisfied and that any issues were addressed properly and in a timely manner. Would HIGHLY recommend this company for any gutter work - entire new setup, repairs, custom fabrication (which they did for me no problem), and anything gutter related. I believe they do other roofing work too.
Response by Storm Guard Restoration of North Houston: Thank you Eric
