Updated review: The day after my previous review was posted, the owner, Ken, contacted us himself and sent out a crew to start working on our roof. He apologized for the misleading timeline repeatedly given by his son, Cody, and asked me to remove or update my review of the company. So this is my update so far: the crew worked all day today and will be back tomorrow (even though this morning Ken said it would be a one-day job, we suspected it would take two days since our roof is quite large). We were also told that Cody was wrong about the temperatures having to be over 55 degrees and we were promised by the owner, Ken, that he would have a talk with his son, Cody, about how long this process takes and to make sure that he under-promises and over-delivers and not the other way around. I will further update my review after the work is completed. Note: I will update this review once the roof is actually finished. We chose The Roof Dr. to do our roof based on reviews and so far we have regretted making this choice. We want to warn other potential clients about what working with this company is like. We signed a contract on July 27 after our insurance company approved our new roof. The contract said that the roof would be started around Aug 30. Now we are at the very end of October and we still do not have a new roof. The most frustrating aspect of this process has been the utter lack of communication from the company. When their estimated deadline passed, we did not hear from them. After repeated calls from us, they provided a variety of excuses. We were told that their suppliers had been delayed by Hurricane Harvey and had run out of supplies. Then we were told that if we wanted to expedite the process of getting our roof, we could choose to pay for the materials ourselves. When we asked how purchasing the supplies ourselves would help when their suppliers had run out due to Hurricane Harvey, The Roof Dr. told us that actually they themselves had to wait for money to come in from previous customers before they could order the supplies (even though one of their big selling points was that they donâÂÂt take any money up front from their customers). On another occasion, we were told that our roof was being delayed by the Colorado weather, but it is baffling to us that a company that has been operating for decades in Colorado would not take the weather into account when writing up their contracts. Last time we talked to Cody (the owner's son) 4 weeks ago, he told us that we would get our roof in 1-2 weeks. When we asked "so will we have our roof two weeks from now?" he changed his answer to 3-4 weeks "just to be sure" that we would definitely have it by then. Well, now it has been 4 weeks and we still do not have the roof. We have been told repeatedly that we were "next in line" for a roof. Today is the last day of good weather, so we will have to wait quite awhile before the temperature is warm enough to start the work. All the materials w

Ken and Cody installed a new roof and gutters/downspouts at my home in June 2016. I have recommended them to my friends and neighbors. Everything was fine until I had a roof leak and had water pouring into my main floor office in July 2018. Ken dragged his feet and my home had continual interior damage while they tried to determine the location of the leak. After several months (the entire winter) they finally fixed the roof. In April 2019 Ken sent a drywall repairman who told me he was too busy to perform the repairs. Ken left me hanging and I ended up hiring my own contractor. Ken said he would reimburse me $500 and he stiffed me and went radio silent. We started having water damage July 16, 2018 and it took 9 months for Ken to get a crew to repair the roof leak. Now it's been more than a year and he won't reimburse me for the interior damage to my home. I like doing business with local, family-owned businesses. But the downside is that if you pick the wrong company you can get burned like we did. I'm really disappointed as this was a positive relationship that went bad over poor customer service.

Everything was great until I could not talk to the crew doing the work. There was a lack of communication due to language barrier. There should be at least one person who can communicate with the home owner. When we saw a problem with the decking on the house and tried to tell the roofers they could not understand and we had to call the office and find someone who could talk to them. The materials that were needed did not get delivered and so when the roofers started they didn't have the decking boards to do the job. The problem was corrected and the roof looks great. We had one area we were unsure about and the inspector was new and failed the roof. I was impressed with Ken Medina the owner of The Roof Dr. Ken took his time to come out and check out what the inspector said didn't pass and Ken was able to take care of the mis-communication or so we thought it was. Come to find out the problem is not solved and three inspectors have been out and say the roof needs to be fixed. It may not support a snow load as decking that needed to be replaced was not done. The ins co paid for 5 sheets of decking that was not used.I have held back part of the payment until the proper repairs are made. Roof doctor used a sub contractor to do our roof and never disclosed their name to us so we could check them out. they have a bad rating and iam sure they would not quilify for home advisor. Ken was to come out a do a repair, i took off work to be here and he never showed up. I called his office to find out he went to a different job in the mountains and would not be there. that was last summer and have never heard from him and now he wants to be paid for something he never completed.

I hired Roof Dr to replace my hail damaged asphalt shingle roof. Ken Medina, and his son Cody, came to inspect my roof before I submitted a claim to my insurance company. I also had 2 other Homeadvisor roofers inspect and give me quotes. All three companies were prompt and reasonable, but I chose Roof Dr for their professionalism and willingness to explain why their products and processes were superior. They weren't the cheapest but to me, were the best value. Ken suggested that he be at my appointment with my insurance adjuster. Great idea because Ken was able to get on the roof and show the adjuster additional damage that he'd missed and explain Broomfield county specific codes that significantly increased the insurance payout. I appreciated Ken being my advocate because I know nothing about roofing. Overall, a good experience, a good outcome and I have recommended them to my in-laws for repairs to their roof. Thx.

Ken was great to work with and his 40+ years of roofing experience came in handy convincing the insurance to cover it. It was a very quick turnaround time and always responded quickly.
