Project: New Windows
I recently had all my windows replaced and changed one window into a "garden window" over my sink. The sales person was wonderful and answered all my questions and even answered questions I didn't think to ask. I had to wait to order the windows to get permission from my HOA. My TC coordinator, Judith, was very helpful with all of the questions posed by the HOA about the "garden window". The installers were exceptional. I was pet sitting a german shepherd at the time and the workers all greeted the dog every time they walked into the house-- the dog loved all his new friends. I had an estimate from another company 3 years ago. Thompson Creek came in on the same budget even though I had added front gutters and a garden window to the project. For those of you that are hesitant, have them come to the house for a demo. Yes, they will try to convince you to sign a contract but so will every other company coming to show you windows. The windows are constructed to last and their warranty beat other manufacturers I spoke with. I hate getting estimates and talking with contractors. The sales people and installers at Thompson Creek educated me about the windows and what to look for. I took pictures before and after --- WOW.

Review by a homeowner in Sterling, VA
I went with Thompson Creek because I had a leaking sliding door & needed a quality door replacement without wasting time on a price quote process. Thompson Creek was recommended to me for the quality. The sales rep arrived & told me it was the last day of their annual sale. I signed the contract based on what I was told, even though it was over twice what I was expecting to pay (after the "sale" discount). I was told the "quality is guaranteed because Thompson Creek manufactures, sells & installs their own product ensuring complete control." I scheduled a "preCon" meeting so they could measure my door opening, but my order details were simple since I was told that there were no options for handles or anything, I selected a white door frame& no samples were needed. A week later a company rep rings my doorbell handing out coupons for the same discount I was rushed into taking. At the "preCon" appointment he checked on the details of my order, telling me I selected a brass handle (um no, I was told they only come in white so there are NO options to select, much less brass) & grids in my door glass, not my transom...opposite of my order. We corrected the selected details to again say "NO grids within the door glass+ YES grids in the transom+ White door frame+ White trim + white handle." I scheduled installation for 5 wks later so they could make my door to fit the size and angles of my house. I needed a description of my order for my HOA &called my coordinator with no luck. I eventually emailed her asking for a description, when I got it, I see yet ANOTHER set of selections that not only did I NOT chose, but I had no idea the selections even existed plus the grids were back, now showing in both the door and the transom. WHAT? I told her about the options being wrong &asked for someone to go over my full order, THREE TIMES while she refused &told me "I'm confident your order is straightened out". Well great, I'm glad she's confident but it's my money&its a LOT of money without seeing any swatches/samples & without anyone walking me through all the details of my complete order that I paid for sight unseen. Multiple days of many emails&phone calls, left me beyond frustrated but more confident in what I was expecting in my upcoming installation. I took leave from work for my early Sept installation date & was greeted by a wide truck driving over my stepping stones (breaking 2) rather than parking in the open spots directly in front of my house. They unloaded supplies & product onto what used to be my nice green grass, killing it during the hrs at my house. I'm still trying to regrow something. While in the other room, the installation gentlemen were tidy & polite between phone calls &talking about wanting to drive off bridges (yikes). Suddenly they tell me they found a crack in the transom frame & they had to order a new transom before coming back to start the installation from scratch. Things happen, ok. They globbed caulk& slapped on trim to cover the open exterior& interior walls while I waited for them to "make" a new transom. They took a chunk out of my deck finish while throwing scraps& tools off the deck. When they called to cancel the 3rd installation date (& now 4th day of leave wasted), I find out yet another "mistruth" that they don't manufacture the sliders or transoms at all! I am paying for this "QUALITY ASSURANCE" due to start to finish ownership & it's a bold face lie. Every single phone convo, I asked to be placed with a different coordinator because she clearly was not only NOT coordinating anything but also was rude&dismissive, yet the co. continually refused to reassign me. Finally, my July order for this door was installed at the end of Oct. (on the 5th day of leave I had to use for this overpriced, mediocre quality door) by a very nice gentleman. They immediately & aggressively called& emailed all day, the day after the installation. WILL NOT USE AGAIN!

Project: New Windows - 6 +
One of the windows were broken and if I had not said something they, would have left it. Quality control at factory and at job site seems to be lacking. The first install appeared to go ok but when replacing the broken window the install looked a little shoddy. The one replacement took as long as as the initial install

We were given a time frame they were here at the specified time, showed me the doors. The doors were installed with no problems, took away old doors, cleaned up, and showed me how to adjust the glass and doors. They completed the work in under 2 hours .Later that afternoon a quality inspector checked the work

The technician who came out, Dave C, was a wonderful person. He was professional, quick, and thorough. He showed me how to properly replace my sliding screen back on track if the dogs pop it off, and how to properly adjust it. He is an exceptional, professional technician, and my dogs even liked him. Thank you Thompson Creek & Thank you Dave C.
