He repaired two-level deck, completely replacing decking and railings, several support posts/footers and rafters, bringing it totally up to current code. Always was there when he said he would be. Felt confident working with him long distance as an out-of-town owner, as he provided regular updates via phone, text and email including photos as work progressed. Pricing was fair; excellent quality of work. We worked through several code-required additional repairs discovered as work progressed, during which he offered cost-controlling suggestions, including pointing out to the building inspector where the inspector had miss-calculated the need for some additional work. Additional cost were also fair. Work was completed when he said it would be. I will hire him again for additional projects.

He's done several jobs for me. He's never disappointed me on getting the job done in a timely manner.

Mr. Rooney was hired to find and fix a roof leak. He advised it was leaking from the chimney and took pictures to show me mold and cracks on the decorative stone covering. He stressed the only proper way to fix it was to remove all of the stone, replaster the base and then reapply the stone. He stated there was a lot of work involved and it would take at least 3 separate 1/2 days. He quoted $1,500. I asked Mr. Rooney if his work was guaranteed and advised that my roof needed to pass an inspection so pictures to show the inspector were absolutely necessary. He said he guarantees his work and he away takes pictures of his work anyway so providing a copy would be no problem. When Mr. Rooney started the work he and his helper found an actual hole in the top portion of the plaster, showed me the picture and said he would probably be able to discount his price by $300. He also stated a couple of the rocks would not come off so he would leave them rather than break them into pieces. Unexpectedly after four hours he stated the job was finished. I was surprised that the work could be completed in such a short time. Later I realized he had totally changed the scope of the job, removed very few of the rocks and simply put a new coat of plaster over the existing plaster and rock. He never advised me of this change. He presented a bill giving a $150 discount rather than the stated $300 for a total of $1,350. As Mr. Rooney carries a gun on his person at all times I felt intimidated and paid the bill. So he did not do the job that he quoted, spent only 1/3 of the time yet charged as if he completed the job per his quote. The price I paid calculates to $337.50 an hour minus whatever he paid his helper and a couple of bags of cement. That is an exorbitant cost for the work performed. I have asked for the pictures 3 times and never received them or an explanation. As he had stated he would check to see why they didn't go through on his email, I know he has the pictures and I wonder his reason for not providing them to me. Today as I stand on the ground looking up at the chimney I can see cracks across the face of the rocks. Now I have ended up with no pictures for the inspector to show and support the work that was done, no written guarantee and he left a gutter full of chunks of plaster. For reference I am an older retired lady living alone outside of town with no immediate neighbors. The only contact I have received from Mr. Rooney was to give me a $2975 quote for additional work. I have a written quote for $1,400 for the very same work!
Response from Company:
It's funny how when you do work for a customer you wind up learning a lot more about the individual. First of all I will start out by saying yes I did tell her it would take a couple of days to do her deck support in her chimney which she did not mention in her comments also I do carry a handgun and I have a handgun carry permit she seen my handgun when I arrived on the job and my gun remained in my vehicle while I was working at her home. As far as intimidating her she said she thought it was nice that I carried a gun for safety. After I started work I realize she was going to be a problem considering her two neighbors took her to court I think her comment in reference to my handgun was totally uncalled for considering she agreed to the quote that I gave her when I originally quoted the job that would be the reason she paid me. And as far as the other job that she referenced I quoted her $2975 on was to rebuild a floating dock which consisted of three separate docks plus a staircase that traveled down to the lake which was about 75 feet. The lumber alone was $2,100 in materials and she also forgot to mention that when her roof was leaking inside she had someone come out and look at it and they told her she needed a new roof so she bought a new roof when I went and looked at the job I seen the chimney was totally cracked open and told her it would need to be repaired to stop the water leaks since it's been raining here for the past 3 weeks and her job has been completed she has no complaint of a leak the job must have been completed right

Bobby was very professional and maintained adequate communication with me during the repair and staining of our cabin's two decks, rails, and posts inclusive of a secondary project to power wash, repair, and stain a long run of external stairs to our lower level crawl space. This was important because I was nearly 1000 miles away during the work. I truly appreciated his professionalism, common courtesy, and trust worthy recommendations as challenges arose during the work project. The pictures he sent were perfect in helping me to see the job as it evolved to completion.

Bobby gave us valuable peace of mind! He installed 2 beams spanning the length of our home, erected support beams, and repaired major cracks where settling had taken place. With his knowledge, work ethic, dependability, and responsiveness we would hire him again for future projects.

The most important factor in partnering with Mr. Robert is that both me and my wife trusted him and his opinion. Robert is knowledgeable and has experience that allows him to give good insight into the projects. The project was completed on time and as described. We are using Mr. Robert for additional projects.

Bobby is very reliable and hard working . He built us a covered carport, installed a safety ramp for my mom, fenced our near 2 acre parcel and installed electric fencing, discovered and alerted us to the condition of our roof, replaced the roof and saved us $$$ in potential repairs from leaks , re -purposed an old carport and converted it into a barn, helped us moisture seal our crawl space, and there is so much more. I HIGHLY recommend him.
