Vic was so personable and we loved that we were able to hire local! We received quotes from two other companies to replace our water heater and he was $500 and $1300 cheaper than the other companies. The quality of work was great and the water heater he put in regenerates much more quickly than our last. He also removed both old water heaters (One working, one old that for some reason was left their by previous owners) and offered to remove other old equipment in the basement for no extra charge, which is rare for plumbers to do anything without charging. He also gave us a free quote and was out within four days of our initial phone call. He is our guy from now on!

I hired Vic the Plumber based on the positive Home Advisor reviews. I typically like to hire the smaller businesses because they take pride in their work. However, this was not a good experience. I hired him for a straight-forward Hot Water Heater replacement. Issue 1) He had no knowledge of local codes or permit requirements. In this municipality the install has to be done by a licensed plumber and the gas lines, water lines, and drain connections must be verified by the city. He was not aware of this and said he would *check on that* to get out of the conversation. Issue 2) Vic quoted me prices for both 6 yrs and 10 yr water heaters; I chose the 10 yr unit. He received the wrong unit from the distributor and chose to install it anyway without contacting me. However, he did manage to call me 4 times before I got home from work trying to get paid before I discover the problem. He certainly knew he made the mistake, as he billed me at the 6 yr price. He admitted as much when I called him about it. To remedy that situation, he tried to buy an extended warranty to *make it right*. I called the manufacturer directly to confirm the units were different, but he refused to believe this. The whole transaction was very shady. Issue 3) They left a mess in the basement. Example: Cut pipes left on the ground, left a bucket full of water, drain pan was left full of water, etc. Bottom line, this was a bad install. This guy had decent workmanship, but that's about it. Not knowing the permit requirements where you are working is inexcusable in this trade. His business transactions were terrible and dishonest. There are better options out there. I suggest you look elsewhere for a professional install. I hope this review helps.
