Bottom line up front - I strongly recommend that you do not hire this company. We paid for work to be performed, the company cashed the checks, and did a small portion of the original contracted work, and then never returned. My wife and I hired Tommy and Steve of Whitetop Plumbing to re-model three bathrooms in our house. This project started back in November 2015 and to this day none of the jobs have been completed. The worst is the master bathroom where they tore everything out and then never came back. The work that was done is of low quality. I had to bring in another contractor to fix work this company did perform which included plumbing, tile, and finishing items like drywall caulking, and waterproofing. They caused additional damage to two bath tubs when removing tile. They caused additional damage when they used tape on our hardwood floors which stripped the stain and finish when pulled up. So now I have tape marks on our hardwood floor in the shape of a path way going from the front door to the stairs. The floors will need to be completely stripped and re-finished, which is a large cost. Bottom line we paid over $22k plus materials and (this does not include the work I am having to pay a 2nd contractor to come in and finish the original job or damage created on the tub or floors) only about half of the work was completed. The total price paid was well over the original cost estimate. We consistently had problems trying to schedule them after the money was paid out. They did not return calls and would not make schedule appointments. They said they had a crew to do the work not within their skill range however they never showed up so I don't think they do. Simple fact, they will talk nice and promise the work but will not deliver. Do not give this company money unless the work is complete or you will never hear or see from them again. Looking into the company's license, they are only rated as a class c in Virginia. We did not know this until after the fact. Based on the quoted price of over $10k they knew this job was beyond the limits of a class c license however they had no problem selling us on hiring them. In addition, Tommy's license expired in 2002! Which is important because Tommy stated he is the owner of the company but Steve's name is the one listed on DPOR's licensing website. Take caution before hiring this company.

Tommy (owner) is a great guy. He not only fixed the blockage in our pipes that I couldn't fix myself, but he also fixed a problem with our disposal that we didn't even know about (we just knew it was leaking a bit). On time, called to let us know when he would be there, worked quickly. No service fee for coming out on a weekend. He also worked with us financially. He's that plumber I wish I'dve had in my back pocket for years.

Tommy replaced the valve assembly on one toilet, although I don't think it really needed to be replaced. There was a bubble on the flapper of another toilet and he broke the bubble so the flapper would work better. However, he couldn't replace the flappers because he didn't have the right kinds with him. I called within 2 days, several times, to have him come back to replace the flappers but he NEVER RESPONDED!

The plumber cleared the clog. It seemed to be a difficult job but he completed it. Unfortunately, he had to break the outside metal drain cover in order to complete the job because he couldn't unscrew it. He had to punch a hole in it and pull back the metal with pliers to widen the hole. After he cleared the clog, I paid his fee and he said he would come back the next business day to install a new cover. That was more than 5 business days ago. I've called him several times and left messages but he hasn't called me back or come back to fix it. He was a very nice guy so I don't understand this behavior. So I can't in good faith rate him very high because he hasn't finished the job though I paid him in full. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this company. I'd love to hear from him and would love for him to complete the job. If he does, I'll amend this review.

They are not responsive, they made repairs and charged me but do not send me the invoices, no matter how many times I pushed to do so.

Issue was a leak above ceiling in finished basement; no option for that on your site. The response was two days later than anticipated and the cost seemed exorbitant, but it was a Sunday.
