Ismet (the boss, with whom I dealt) promised to come on a Monday. He telephoned and said he could not come, because he discovered his car registration had expired. Came the following day, but worked only half a day. Brought men to help him finish the job that Friday. The basement leak seemed fixed, but when it rained for several days, it became clear that it had not been fixed. He promised to fix it the next day (Saturday) but then said the part he needed was not available, and that he would come on Monday. He id not arrive that Monday. I was unable to reach him by his cell phone (which is the only way he can be reached). I kept telephoning all that week, with no response. (I even tried the phone book, where I found an Ismet Mujagic, but when I phoned, the man denied all knowledge of Avondale.) That Friday, Ismet telephoned me. He said he was in Chicago, because of a death in his family, and promised to come the following day. He came and finished the work that Saturday. I discovered a new leak and discussed putting in a glass block window, like two windows he had already installed for me. We agreed on a price, and he promised to come the following Monday. That Monday, he called and said he had another job and would come the following day, Tuesday. On Tuesday, he called and said he was in the Emergency Room, that a fragment had gone into his eye the previous day. When I telephoned him during the week, to find out how he was, and when he would come to install the window, he was not answering his phone. I left a message, and he called and said he was home, as advised by the docctor, and would come that Saturday. He did not arrive on Saturday, nor did he answer his cell phone, that Saturday, or the entire following week. Ismet is a lovely human being, who has done excellent work for me in the past. But there have been too many delays, postponements, and disappearances (when he could not be reached at all). I'm going to have to reluctantly find someone else to put in the basement window and do whatever other repairs I need.

These modifications and repairs were preformed in a quick and professional manner.

The original surface of the ceiling was plaster but there had been various repairs over the years using drywall. In spots the drywall was 2 layers thick. They quickly repaired that hole and did a good job matching the swirled surface of the ceiling. The smooth surface of the bathroom wall was done as well as the textured. They worked quickly and the quality was great. They did a SUPER job cleaning up. I think they left the room cleaner than they found it! I loved the fact that he showed up at 7AM to do the original estimate so that I would still be able to get to work on time.

Ismet and his crew did an excellent job. Their workmanship is the highest quality. The original contract was signed on June 30, 2007. The permit took 3 weeks to receive. The job was completed on September 17th. The actual work took approximately 8 weeks from the receipt of the permit which was longer than I had anticipated. Even though many custom items were ordered for this job, they were pretty much available at the time they were needed.

They were magnificent. They saved the day for us. They did excellent finish work.

Contacted Avondale Construction and had an on site inspection and a quote for the work, including options within a day. I was informed of the delivery time of the windows and fencing and work started immediately after delivery. All work was completed within a week. The workers did more than expected in cleaning the brush and small trees from the property line. The workers did a very good job of cleaning up after completion. I would use Avondale Construction again.

They have been wonderful! During the ice storm, a tree fell over my driveway, trapping me in the house. I called, someone came, cut up the tree, and cleared my walk and brought me some salt to spread on it! Whenever I have some sort of household emergency, I call Ismet and someone comes and does whatever needs to be done.

I rehabbed my old home so I have worked with quite a few contractors. Avondale Construction is one of the best. Very reasonably priced. They called me back the same day I called them. They came out and gave me a bid within 2 days. We were supposed to get the materials but had trouble finding one Home Depot with enough material. Ismet said he would take care of it for us. He drove to 6 stores! The crew arrived promptly at 8 am. They worked nonstop till 4 or 5 pm with a break for lunch. They were professional and polite they completed the job in 2 1/2 days. They worked around all our furniture including a baby grand piano with no problems and were very non intrusive. We hardly knew they were there. I have put up crown moulding before and it can be very difficult. They were amazing. Only a few seams in the biggest room and those disappeared after caulking and painting. It looks fantastic. They left my garage cleaner than before they came. I will definitely call them again.

The man is very knowledgeable. They are considerate and very clean. They also did a few extra things that they saw I needed.

Their work was superb! The quality was impressive. The workmen were polite and left no mess behind. When the workmen inadvertently damaged some trees, Ismet, the owner, paid for pruning and replacement of a dead tree, without argument or unpleasantness. (And when an extremely heavy piece of furniture was delivered just to the curb, they brought it into the house and uncrated it for me!)
