Terrible experience. The finished product was good but Hal was flaky, hard to deal with, and lied about numerous things. He failed to provide a written quote after saying he would on multiple occasions and the final number didn't match his verbal quote. UPDATE 06/13/17: I called this company because of positive reviews on HomeAdvisor. I spoke with Hal, he provided a verbal estimate for the work, and I setup an initial appointment for him to come by the property. I had multiple conversations with Hal before, during, and after the work. Many of the times he asked me for the property address since he, "had so many projects going on it was difficult to keep track of them." During our first call he offered to email me a quote - which never came. After viewing the property he said he would follow up with a written quote and set a date to begin work. The morning the work was suppose to be done we had not yet received a written quote. My wife called him, and he said it would be the first thing he did. The quote was not received in writing until that afternoon after the work had already started. We noticed there was no line item on the quote for permits. He responded that it's the homeowner's responsibility to get permits if they want the work done legally and then claimed he had mentioned this to my wife (which he not). My father spoken with him about this and he said that when a client asks about getting permits he normally responds by saying it's their responsibility if they want to go through the cost and hassle of getting them. I guess it was our fault for not asking if he was going to be doing the work legally. We asked him to provide proof of insurance. He provided proof of liability insurance for his company but was unable to provide documentation that he carried L&I insurance for his workers. The company that held his liability insurance confirmed he did not have L&I insurance with them and he was not able to provide documentation from any other provider. On the first phone call, when he provided a verbal quote, he asked if we wanted a covering for the window well. I said yes. He also confirmed this with my wife when he visited the property the first time. During the construction process a grate was put on the top of the window well. We noticed the grate interfered with the window, preventing it from being opened, and wondered how the finished product would function. Near the end of the work, the grate was removed and the opening left uncovered. Hal told us the window did not come with a covering. The explanation provide was the grate was put on by accident and meant for a different property. Fortunately Hal was willing to pay for a clear plastic covering so that we could pay him for the completed work. Hal used my wifes and my fathers involvement to claim at various points that something was communicated to one of us when in reality it wasn't. I don't know how many of the lies and issues we encountered were due the Hal's poor organization and
Response by L & M Construction: The above comments by Brad were factually incorrect (other than the finished product was good). Hal had zero dealings with him, other than a phone call after our work was completed. Brad had insisted that his wife had ordered a grid cover, which was not the case. This issue was resolved at our cost. We dealt only with his wife and his father. All paper work requested was expeditiously provided and all additional work of landscaping and fence replacement requested, in consultation with the crews on site and face to face discussions with his wife and conversations with his father were adhered to.

The windows we had installed are great quality and the crew that came out to bid and do the work were super nice! We also had a window well installed and the job was done flawlessly with great results!! You have to be a little persistent to get responses at times, but worth the wait.

L & M Construction and Design Crew LLC did a fantastic job with everything from bidding the job, scheduling and then completing the installation of my egress window. What a great looking window and at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend these guys! You do not need to look any further.

In addition to very competitive pricing for the window, this company clearly understands and appreciates the concept of customer service. The sales representative was a consummate professional and very detail oriented and the installation team was simply excellent in every way. Nothing but consistent excellence.
