The roofing was done on time. They did a good job, and finished in one day. The only glitche was that 2 weeks later I discovered a severe leak in the front gutter. RLCC agreed immediately to replace it. The gutter sub-contractor arrived on a Saturday (June 5) with no prior notice, with the wrong color. If I hadn't been there he might have installed the wrong thing. He said he would be back that Monday or Tuesday. Three weeks later I still had not heard from RLCC or the sub-contractor. I called RLCC on Monday June 28. My wife called again on Thursday and I got a phone call that evening. The gutter was replaced the next day.

We had a few communication issues as to starting dates and times, but the work done was excellent. They had to be creative with the front and it ended up looking better than it did when we bought the house.
Response from RLCC
"Wow, - I can't believe this at all. I am very disappointed in this very inaccurate account of events and the subsequent "F" rating. So, in sincere defense, I will give an accurate account with straight facts regarding this latest project for you: (1) There were really no communication issues at all. The contract was signed on April 20, 2010. The job was complete (a typical, one day roof tear-off & replace) on May 4, 2010. The contract reads that work will begin within two weeks of having received the deposit and will be complete within one week or less from start. THERE WAS NO DOWN TIME, THERE WAS NO LACK OF COMMUNICATION THERE, AND THE JOB WAS COMPLETE! (2) I received a call from member nearly a month later, stating that the gutter on the front of the house was leaking. As a quality contractor who appreciates his customers (especially one who has given repeat business & "A" reports previously here on Angieslist) I did not question the source, or cause of the leaky gutter. I simply offered to replace the entire gutter along the facade of the property, in which I'm quite sure are the original gutters. I immediately placed the work order for replacement on June 3rd, 2010. I know this because I fax my work orders and I have both the W.O. & the fax report which are dated 6/03/10. Upon arrival to install however, we realized that we had made a mistake in that the gutters were a special order, color. The material was ordered ASAP & a re-schedule was necessary. THEN CAME THE RAIN.... Do you actually know how many days it rained in June this year? Do you realize that a 100 year record was surpassed for inches of rainfall in that month? Do you realize how that affects the installation schedule of exterior construction? Do you care? I communicated on exactly 3 occasions regarding all of this with you! How ironic that the morning your (94 Lin. Ft.) of GUTTER & DOWNSPOUT was being removed & replaced at no charge to you, I get this email from AL leading me to your very unfair report! The fact is, I don't even know if the roofing project had anything to do with your old gutter leaking, I just gave my best to take care of you! Lastly, what is this utter non-sense about waiting a month for your manufacture's warranty on the shingles? Did I promise it sooner? Were you put out of something while it was being prepared & mailed? You have a three year (minimum) warranty on the labor through my company... AND 35 YEARS from the manufacturer, I think 30 days is appropriate here if that's how long it takes! In closing, I will take the liberty of telling you what a great deal I also gave you! Your roof replacement was worth much more than what I charged you! I realize that would mean nothing if I did not deliver great service & quality, but we both know I did. I also know I did right by you and my conscience is clear. I further believe that all objectiveness, rationale, and simple patience was omitted on your part in rendering a report such as this!"

I needed an extra room as a guest room/study. I wasn't exactly sure what the best solution would be for my guest room needs, as I do not have a large home. I contacted a few different, local contractors. I actually found RLCC online. Right from the initial return phone call, and the follow up emails, I could tell that RLCC was the right match for me. I was impressed with Ricky's friendliness, knowledge, and especially, his ability to listen to me during our consultation. It seems like most of the other contractors wanted to tell me what I wanted, and what I needed to do...... instead of letting me convey my thoughts and then offering solutions as how to achieve it! After listening to various design ideas, we both decided the best place for the room was between the formal living room and the dining room. Then it happened. Almost like magic. I can not believe how quickly and accurately the work was performed! RLCC's crew is amazing. They work hard & they work fast. When they are finished for the day, they cleaned better than I expected. Needless to say, I gave them more projects in my home. I also have to say that RLCC's workers are some of the nicest guys. Considerate & caring about every detail. You won't regret hiring RLCC.

Reviewed Ricky's add in CL, sent him an e-mail he responded almost instantaneously. He came home looked @ the job, we agreed on the price, I told him I need the work done over weekend or on the same day as I could not take off from work. He said he would get it done right away, he was @ home on the job with in 2 hrs & completed the work before 5:00 PM. What impressed me the most is the can get done attitude & his responsiveness. He was able to get all the tools, schedule a painter & every thing taken care of with in estimated time. Great Job Ricky!

I found RLCC on Craigslist.com and he was very responsive. I received a call soon after I sent the inquiry and he was very curtious on the phone. He came out the next day for the estimate. I also received estimates from other companies, but as a stay at home mom, I was most comfortable with RLCC. We scheduled the install within a week after the estimate and the work was complete in one day. The work looks great and we receive alot of compliments from our neighbors.

Communication was perfect. Response and e-mailing was instant. The professional consultation was very productive; saving around 3 grand choosing very good engineering wood over wood floor. First day his crew took care of my old glue-down smelly carpets in half a day. He did all the impressive trim and molding works. Some of work was not in the contract. Painting was more impressive. I did not have to move any furniture which I was holding against the project the most. One day I came back from work, all the painting was done and all the picture fames were back on the wall like magic. He seems to have more big than small jobs but he took care of my project very smoothly. Especially his workers seemed happy in this economy. My wife was happy. My referral (my sister-8 door replacement) is happy. I am happy.

Ricky Lee was able to start and finish on our time table. He had a demolition crew come out and remove the old paneling and drywall. He put down red rosin paper over our slate floors, and drop cloths, and worked very quickly with the demolition. Later that same day, Ricky arrived with drywall and mud and installed it all. The next day he returned, applied the finish coat of mud, some trim molding around the doorway. He did a great job with smooth finishes and sharp corners, and tied it very nicely into the adjoining room which we had not remodeled.
