When Chad Ryan first came to my studio home in mid-May, he told me that my job was "quick and easy" and that it would probably only take "six weeks". The job actually ended up taking over five months. When I tried to ask when a worker would show up next, when the job would be completed - or even for an estimate! - I was brushed off, gaslighted or just plain lied to.  <br /> I spent fifteen consecutive days in July without a working shower or bath. I offered to go out of town for a couple days so they could remove my toilet to tile the floor - they assured me it would be back when I returned. It wasn't and I was forced to spend a third night in a hotel. <br /> The project manager blew off our first meeting/introduction without a call and didn't bother to show up until five hours late the second day, again with no communication. <br /> After month three I went to see an attorney who specializes in contractor disputes and he pointed out that I was well within my rights to fire these guys at that point and that I would probably have a solid case if I took them to court. I figured that the job was almost done so I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Two and a half months later it finally was. <br /> They clearly made my small job a very low priority compared to the "million dollar jobs" the PM told me they were working on. I guess this makes financial sense for them and maybe I'm not their target demographic but WOW was that infuriating and insulting. <br /> If I ran my business like these guys do, I'd be embarrassed. <br />

They were great.  I don?t know anything about floors and these guys have done a lot of commercial work.  They told me what to buy without being intrusive.  He did such a good job.  They are dedicated to their work and are willing to work beyond the working hours.       <br /> <br /> I highly recommend them.

<em>What can you tell me about the experience you had with them?<br /> </em>Very slow. They are very slow and they kept adding things that you needed to pay for. So, their timeline was not met. The quality of their work was very good. I say that their customer service skills are definitely a major lacking point for them. <br /> <br /> I would, I guess my advice would be to be aware of the timeline because they take on lots of projects all at the same time so you are not going to be the only one they're working on. You are one of many.

While the actual work was good, it cannot overcome what wasn't.  They showed up with no notice and set off my alarm, missed appointments after confirming (and the scheduler did not answer when I called), did not send the person they said they would send, left materials in an inappropriate place upon job completion and price was, in my opinion, high.  Need I go on? <br />

I first heard about Ryan & Ryan Construction through Safe Circuit Electrical (their subsidiary) who checked my home electrical system and installed recessed lighting.  Safe Circuit had mentioned their parent company Ryan & Ryan could repair the drywall and re-route and install a vent for me.  The initial quote took a little long to obtain.  In the two weeks we were waiting for a quote we repaired two of the ceilings not included in the services mentioned above.  So the delay actually saved us money but was my only real issue.  After we finally got the quote and scheduled service, their workers were on location ready to go.  They were prompt and professional.  One of the workers, Willie I think his name was, even showed me how to drywall properly with texture.  I guess he noticed the work we did on our own.  I didn't think ours was bad until he was finished with our ceiling.  It was perfect.  So he showed me how to "finish" the work I already started on the two other ceilings.  He even helped a bit by sanding at no extra charge while he was waiting for the work he completed to dry.  By the 2nd day, all the drywalling was completed.  <br /> The hood vent was a big job in itself.  They had to remove the top cabinets and cut into the drywall to create an electrical connection to the new vent.  They patched the existing ceiling vent and moved the duct right above the cabinets where the hood vent would be.  They then installed ducting that went through the cabinets that connected my new hood vent to the roof for ventilation.  They patched the wall they cut into and put the cabinets back.  Sheldon even helped me with a separate electrical issue that he fixed in no time at no extra charge. <br /> After the job was completed, one of the Ryan brothers came by for a final look through.  <br /> These guys know what they are doing, and what they do is quality work.

I liked what they did. I found them on Angie’s List. I spent $4,000 on the job. I will hire them again in the future.
