Direct Security Services, Inc was chartered as a company in February 1998 in Overland Park, Kansas (a suburb of Kansas City).Both owners and several other key personnel worked together in the digital satellite industry prior to the creation of the current organization. Direct Entertainment Services (the satellite company's name) was very successful but due to certain market shifts, a new product and service were sought. Home electronics had always been the company's forte. When that experience and expertise was coupled with the consumer's desire, interest and knowledge of home security, Direct Security Services was born. Corporate headquarters has relocated since the company's inception and expanded greatly. Today, D.S.S.I. is located in Roeland Park (another Kansas City suburb) and occupies a beautiful, well-equipped facility where sales, installation, service and administrative operations function daily. They called and came the next day; the woman explained everything in detail; took a great deal of time to answer all of our concerns and will be installing the system this week. We can't comment yet on the actual service as it isn't installed yet.

The initial appointment was fantastic; the salesman was professional and helpful. The man that installed our system, however, was not. When he came to install our system he talked on his phone while also talking to us about where to install the sensors. His phone rang several times and he spent much of the appointment time on his phone. He installed a sensor that was bad and had to come back to our house the following day to replace it. He then had to return two days later to replace the battery in the panel (after only a few days of use). We felt he installed old/ damaged/used parts. We did not feel we could trust him.
