Jon is prompt, courteous, attendant to details and performs all work in a workman like manner. He is sensitive to the surroundings and concerns of his clients. His response to bid requests is complete and detailed. If and when we have additional work to be done, he will be our first contact.

As a new homeowner, with little experience to the world of home improvement, I vastly appreciated Jon's honest nature and work ethic. He was very contientious to deliver me good work at a fair price. I appreciated his willingness to listen to my concerns, both financial as well as those concerning the work in general. I am so pleased with the finished product and am very much enjoying my new home.
Response by Jon Hansen: Comments like the ones above are typical of the sentiments held by my clients since the inception of my business in 1987. While not expected from them, I am grateful to the customers who make known thier appreciation for quality workmanship delivered with trademark integrity.

We were VERY disappointed with this job, expanding a closet to encompass the area under a stairway. The quality was OK, but the final bill was 64% over estimate, and his work habits and hours were very disruptive. He caused a water leak by screwing into a water line; this was repaired at his expense by 8:30PM but after two trips to Home Depot on a bus (he does not own a vehicle) for supplies. He rented a floor nailer but was unable to get it to work, which cost a day. We were charged several hours of time for this. He never started before 8:30 AM and never finished before 7PM, averaging around 8PM We are sorry we chose this contractor
Response by Jon Hansen: Client's complaint stems from bill exceeding estimate. Here's why.Site was inaccessable, hence estimate was"site-unseen" I offered to open wall for inspection. He refused/was informed aloud/in writing that terms were "actual time/material."Unforeseen framing, drywall, subfloor complexity required more time. Add/change orders:extra circuitry/lighting. Doc's prove no charge for defective tool down time.

he is very good and very clean.but he works on hours he spend at the job site.so if bids 4500.00to do a job.and ho goes over in hours you pay 45.00 per hour.so my job took longer than it was suppose to.from a 5000.00 dollar job to 7500.00 the final bill i had to pay the an exra 2500.00. the work he does is very good and he is very nice and cleans up after himself.
Response by Jon Hansen: The client had structural issues with the shower walls that had to be rebuilt, swooped and sloped subfloor that had to be corrected plus he added additional work by request. Look at the pictures of this job and tell me he didn't get a great value. No one ever really likes to pay thier bill, even when they've recieved an outstanding value. A large portion of his bill was for material at my cost.

Project: Remodel a Kitchen
I would use him for a smallier project, not a large one.
Response by Jon Hansen: I believe this client withheld proper credit due me because they hesitated to begin the job soon enough to meet thier move-in deadline. They were made aware of the time requirements, but sat on thier hands a bit. 1200 sq. ft. bamboo floor, kitchen gut remodel, new bar, tiled laundry, 1200 sq. ft popcorn ceiling removed and replastered, complete repaint. It was a lot of work for one guy to do.

Comment: We have an existing enclosed porch with walls, window and roof, being used as our back room. We would like to extend a portion of it (a section about 6 ft x 9 ft) and of course, it also would need exterior siding, interior wall, thorough insulation and a window. The existing window would need to be walled up and the new section of enclosed porch would need a cinder block build-up for its foundation. I also would like a raised cinder block garden at the end of this (maybe about 4 cinder blocks high, 3 ft out & 8 ft wide). The flat-type roof would also need to be extended up on top.
