Since it was a small repair he did the work while on site. He also told me I should contact someone to look at masonry on my fireplace and I appreciate that info since I can't see upcoming maintenance issues on my roof."

"I scheduled the service with the provider and he accidentally overbooked. I called to confirm and we rescheduled to the next available day, only one or two days later. One of his workers showed up in the evening about 7pm. He put the first coat of paint on the shutters. He came back the next evening and applied the second coat of paint. Mike, the painter, was very good. He was efficient, professional and hard working. The paint job is excellent. I would definitely hire them again.

"After having a major pipe bust and leak issue repaired, we then had to fix up water damage as well as damage left by plumbers trying to fix our problems.  One of the damages at hand was wet insulation and wet and rotting boards holding that insulation up underneath the side of our kitchen where it meets our back porch (about 2 feet off the ground). 
Tom came out and not only removed the section that was damaged, but pulled out basically the whole row of boards and insulation that followed along where our kitchen and porch meet (not damaged, but older).  He then added all new insulation and replaced all the boarding holding it up.  His charge for all of this doesn't seem fair... to him.  
Now, when just about anything needs fixed around the house, we are ready to give Tom a call!

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"On the countertops, they did an excellent job. They were here when they were supposed to be. I would not give a good rating for the doors. We bought the doors and the parts for the doors. When they got here, they said that there were parts or pieces missing. Another thing is the guy that originally came out to go over everything with us was laid off and from there on there was some miscommunication. The job with the door did not get completed and they just sort of left."

"I sent Ben pictures of the items we needed removed. Based on that I was quoted $150 to remove household items. Crew arrived ~1hr late. They did call, but I was unable to understand the message that was left and the phone number was different than that provided by the owner. Fortunately, my schedule was able to accomidate the late start. When crew arrived they stated that the quote was too low and it remove all of this it would be $200. They said that they run into this 'all the time' with their owner under quoting. It was hard to determine if this was acutally the case or in fact they were trying to get more $$. Workers did complete all work as agreed upon, but I would expect an accurate quote, better communication, and more professionalism. I did appriciate the ease of scheduling. But I will not hire again due to the above.
