"Septic pump died at 4:00 pm on Friday Christmas Eve Eve Day. Called in a PANIC! Matt Schaper (owner) called me back w/i 2 mins. Saturday, Christmas Eve day, at approx, 9:00 a.m.Russell (service man) was at my home and put in a temp fix so we could use the septic system for Christmas. Monday, day after Christmas, Russell and Roy back to install a new septic pump! TWO THUMBS UP AND FIVE BIG STARS! This company SAVED our Christmas! GREAT SERVICE!!!!"

"I am writing this review in praise of M. Turpin Services located in Wright City. We were in need of immediate assistance in dealing with a septic system issue in order to market our home to sell. Mitch Turpin squeezed us into his work schedule and was very professional from start to finish. Working in conjunction with St. Charles County's Building and Code Enforcement Department, Mitch pulled permits and followed detailed instructions to remedy the septic issue (Install Norweco Aerator and matching control box to bring it up to current code; fix biogenetic filter, septic lid replacement; inspect distribution box, port, curtain drain, and septic drain field; and remove the water softener from the septic). We found Mitch's crew to be hard working, polite and diligent in completing their work. Crew chief Tom thoroughly answered all questions and explained in detail each stage of the job. Without hesitation we would recommend M. Turpin Services an their quality workmanship! Laura Trower Marshall"

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Licensing

We require all pros to attest that they carry the appropriate local and state licensing to practice their trade. Please note that HomeAdvisor does not confirm licensing. Do your own research using online ratings, reviews and through phone interviews before hiring a company.

State Business Filings

If a business states that it's registered as a corporation or limited liability company, we confirm that the company is in good standing in the state in which they operate.
