"Very professional! A complete kitchen remodel, including granite countertops, in just two weeks! He knew all the best local places, listened to what we wanted about layout, coloring, and lighting, and brought all the pieces together to minimize the amount of downtime for our kitchen. All that for a better price than what other contractors were estimating. We'll be asking them first, the next time we need something done."

"The Loft Remodeling is terrific. Mike is easy to work with, highly professional, neat, respectful and is a great communicator. I always knew what the next steps were, what was happening on the project, when he would arrive and if there were issues....suggestions in how to resolve the issue. His work was excellent. Everything looks amazing and I could not be happier. I would hire Mike again (I plan to do so for some work next spring) in a heart beat and would highly recommend him. Finally, his pricing is very fair and very transparent. I am loving my kitchen! Thanks The Loft Remodeling."

"It is good to understand remodeling a 108-yr-old house can open up a can of worms. Living in this house for over 35 years, and having done one cosmetic update to bathroom, it was time to overhaul it. I was the General because they worked with our plumber, electrician, HVAC and designer. Kudos to their ability to flex in schedules and talk through complex issues that arose. We had mutual respect for one another's ideas for changes. They answered all my questions to my satisfaction. The tile work and drywall work were out of this world fabulous. The rebuilding/restructuring of a floor and wall: impeccable. Most important to me, was to see how the owners treated their employees. Because if employees are not happy, it could be reflected in the finished product. So yes, they treated their workers with kindness and respect. (In contrast, a neighbor had an outdoor remodeling project where I literally heard the bosses yelling at their help.) I am a project manager in my normal work, and this project definitely had scope creep, but it was because of the existing plumbing, electric, and chopped up walls/floors that needed restructuring. Expect that with an old house. And they fixed our old door to the bathroom so it closes with a quiet click. Have not had that in 35 years. I would hire them again."

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
