Rodent Types: Mice
Comment: A wire to my HVAC's condensate overflow shut-off switch had been chewed through. The technician noticed rodent activity around the unit. Since then, I have seen a mouse on three occasions and found mouse dropping is numerus areas of my house. A foam mattress in my dogs' kennel had I large section removed. While I know that rats and mice do not usually nest in the same area, I think I have seen signs of rats. When I looked around the HVAC unit, I discovered that after installing a new HVAC system, they did not close up the opening to my attic. I'm sure this is how they are getting into my house. I don't know how there are getting into my attic. I put two no kill mouse/rat traps, bated with peanut butter, in areas where I've seen recent droppings, but have not caught anything. After checking for signs of rodent activity, I've closed off areas that have doors, hoping to limit where they can be.
