"The overall project took about three months. The construction, wiring and plumbing were done effectively and decently. Several things weren't explained very well, if at all. My biggest complaint is that two different items we bought (which we were told would be reimbursed) were not looked at ahead of time. The plumbing was done incorrectly so the shower kit we really wanted couldn't be used. The shower rod wouldn't fit after the tiling. Checking items the client wants to use beforehand is common sense. Pretty disappointing, especially since we bought it toward the beginning of the project so it couldn't be returned (and wasn't reimbursed). J. Ashley did come out after the project was finished to repair an outlet, which was above and beyond his contractual obligations. I would recommend J Ashely for smaller, straight forward work like flooring, but not for anything major or complicated."

"Company quote was higher than 2 competitors to begin with, but liked their (seeming) reliability and professionalism. When I tried to move forward they first emailed wanting a deposit, which makes sense. But when I called they stated they needed to first increase price and would not abide by quote - simply because it was 37 days after quotation (they claim quotes are only good for 30 days, but nowhere stated on the quote received). When I offered to proceed with work as originally quoted, I was refused. Would not do business with untrustworthy company trying to price gouge customers."

He cleared both blockages with one effort: He carried the very heavy "rooter" machine up a ladder to the roof, and sent it down through an venting pipe, having figured out that both the sink and washer drain were on the same line. Charge: one hour's service! He saved us over $2000 over the RR bid."
