  Comment: We moved in 27 yrs ago to a new home. We had a sunroom built under the existing deck: Problems from the beginning. A dif. builder came & took the sunroom out, removed the existing wooden deck, extended the size to 14' x 18'3", & added a much needed cat walk (4'x14') to attach the far side of the yard to the deck for easy access. The problems of leaking began immediately before the project was even completed. He would fix a bit, leave & said he couldn't keep coming out to repair. It never worked. The sunroom was beautiful for a few months. The one who put it in insisted we have the vinyl deck. We had originally requested to have Nexan Aluminum Decking. This was not done. For almost the past 10 yrs we have had to place large tubs to collect the gallons of water that leaked through the deck into the sunroom. At this point, we have had more than 10 builders, contractors, remodelers, and repair guys who have come to give us an estimate or advice. None could commit to guaranteeing that they could take this project on without possible leaking. And it should have never been done under a deck coming from a walk out basement, with a Hip roof directing the water flow over the area of the sunroom under the deck. The north walls are disintegrating & we have attached hoses to the tubs to drain the water out of the sunroom to the outside. Half of the room is salvageable, but as we understand, for anyone to fix this situation, the whole back of the house, where the sunroom & deck are, needs to come down & start anew. We need someone that knows what to do with this disaster that happened in 2013. If someone would be willing to come & discuss possibilities of a remodel with us, it would be most appreciative. We can no longer go onto the deck to use it. The corner posts were not water resistant & the deck moves while walking on it. We are willing to accept "no more sunroom", but need help to have our home back. Please advise.
