There is a large "stair-step" crack in the mortar in the rear of the house above the basement door. The contractor should repair this crack and also inspect/repair any missing/broken mortar around the rest of the house. Note: The house in Bethesda is my father's home -- I am his son and I live in Northern Virginia, about 30 minutes away. To inspect the jobsite, the contractor should knock on the front door and let someone know you are walking around the house. There are no dogs or pets at the house.
